The Call by Equinox Chick
Summary: Colin Creevey - the small, irritating, but incredibly brave boy died, under age, at the Battle. This is why he heeded that call.

This poem was written for the Negotiating with the Dead Challenge in Poetry, Anyone? over at the Mugglenet Beta Boards. Thank you, Julia, (the opaleye) for being such an inspiration and always challenging me.

I'm not JK Rowling. I wouldn;t have killed Remus, Tonks or Sirius for one thing.

Chapter 1 by Equinox Chick
This poem uses anaphora, which is the repetition of a certain word or phrase throughout the poem.

The call of the battle too strong
to resist. The call to be brave
would not desist. The call on
my heart as you begged me
to stay. The call from my lips
as I turned you away.

For each there’s a call, a drum
we all hear. And the beat in
my soul overrode my
stark fear. I fought against those
whose call was too strong for a
golden haired boy caught up
in this throng.

And though I am one who
fell in this fight, I can hear
angels calling tonight.
End Notes:
Reviews are always appreciated, and this is such a short piece, why not make my day :D
