Chapter 1 by Equinox Chick

Lily Evans is a flower (obviously)
A waxed white petal,
a green leaf,
centred with powdery,
yellow pollen and
floating on the pond.
Moored.

Of course, Lily Evans is a flower!
Sheâ€™s a delicate blossom,
unfurling only when the sunshine warms her.

(But there is another side
A tail to this heads)

Tiger-lily
Red. Flocked. Wallpaper.
Wine spilt on the tablecloth.
Carelessly applied lipstick,
On a mouth that canâ€™t stop laughing.

A smudge on her sisterâ€™s confirmation dress.

Lioness, red-gold, roaring, snarling.
The feather quilt enveloping.
Gentle lullaby.

And yet

And yet

Lily is more

The girl on the swing
arching into the sky as she leaps.
A parachute.

Lily - a carved name
On a gravestone.
Cold bones in icy ground.
A dessicated flower
Unwaxed.
