The Coffin Brawl by Nagini Riddle
Author's Notes:
Disclaimer: I am not a snake, neither am I the creator of the Wizarding world. But I am a poet!
The Coffin Brawl
It is ever so silent
(waiting, waiting),
And all around there is white
(can it be?);
But darkness is looming
(don't worry).
Snowflakes dance across my nose
(no, no),
E'en though the sky is baby blue
(why, why?);
It is ever so frozen
(hush, let him be).
The world is spinning
(no, please, no!);
An abyss fills my echoing soul
(how, why?).
Her coffin lays there
(wretched man that I am).
Her face so empty
(could it be?).
As the icy snow settles
(no, sister, please!),
Remorse chains my heart
(your fault, your fault)-
Acidic misery
(the blame lies with me).
Her angelic nose, lips
(gone, gone)...
How tiny she is
(just a child).
Lain in a simple bed
(no, her coffin);
The red- scarlet- poppies reach high
(unfair, oh why?),
Ever so silent
(waiting, waiting).
Inside I let myself suffer
(I have failed, Mum);
Inside I let myself die
(your fault, brother!).
Calmly, silently I stand.
(are you listening?)
My nose- like a whip it cracks.
(listen to me!)
But no longer can I cry
(goodbye)-
No longer can I let myself cry.
(Ariana, goodbye...)
End Notes:
The snake is very hungry- for your thoughts! :) Could you figure out who the main character was? If so, many cookies for you! And possibly a thestral- I'll have to see if Hogwarts is willing to give away one or two.
