Dark Side by Nagini Riddle
Dark Side

In the deepest recess
Of my battle-torn soul
Lives a dark secret,
Shoved further down
As my deception increases,
Seeping into every drop
Of thirst my husband
Aches for.
It wrenches my heart strings
As it delves;
Feeds off my weak integrity;
Burning every flake of
Honest blood;
Freezing every vein of
My wilting spirit;
A tumor in my
Brittle bones;
Dragging my eyelids from
My cracking eyes,
And sucking my youth
From worn-out cheeks;
Shattering the black glass
That existed as my purity.

It has run thin-
No longer can it play
Host to my rankled corpse;
Quickly depletes from
The constant stream
My husband now rejects.
It needs another
To inhabit,
But it is far too late,
Now lazing in the
Tense and desperate air.
And he, who once
Called me love,
Turns away
From my poverty,
And my wretched
Dark side.
End Notes:
Merope is just not having a good day in any of my stories! I'm so sorry, Merope!!!!! :)
