This is another poem I wrote some time ago (originally for the Anniversary Challenge in PA) but never got around to posting.
Today I do not want to be a Ravenclaw
Supposed to academically succeed;
No, nor to study under stone Rowena’s watch
At midnight, when I’d rather sleep than read.

The tedium and difficulty alternate;
I’m struggling in class--or else, I’m bored.
Rebellious thoughts are pulsing through my weary brain,
Thoughts better Claws would surely have ignored.

I shockingly but truly wish to blow it off.
I’d love to spend my free time with my friends,
But all of them have homework of their own to do.
They, too, can feel the pressure O.W.L. year sends.

It’s ruining my love of understanding things;
My once-strong zeal for learning’s on the wane.
Today I do not want to be a Ravenclaw;
Today the work is driving me insane.
