I remember your face
As you fell.
Some fear there, but more surprise
That your time was already up.
That someone had managed
To put out
The brightest star in the sky.

Now I remember your look,
It burned into my eyes.
But I fear that I may forget…

I remember your kisses,
Night after night.
Warm lips to my skin
Told me you were there
Once again.
And that everything would be alright.

Now I remember your kisses
Soft brushes in the night
But I fear that I may forget…

I remember your laugh,
(When you let yourself laugh)
Barking, like the dog, that you truly were.
You would throw back your head,
Your walls would slip.
And I could see my broken king,
Whose heart had been pierced
Too many times.

Now I remember your laugh,
The sound rings in my ears.
But I fear that I may forget…

I remember the taste
Of your lips on mine.
It was once the sweet taste
Of love never ending.
The remnants leave now
A bittersweet taste
Of love unrequited.

Now I remember that taste,
Of regret mixed with love
But I fear that I may forget…

I remember your scent.
I have a sweater of yours,
It is filled with your smell.
While the scent remains, putting it on
Makes me feel
As if you are in my arms once more.
But soon it will fade,
And my arms will be
Empty.

Now I remember your scent,
The smell fills my nose.
But I fear that I may forget...

Most of all,
I remember your absence.
I remember the thirteen years
When I didn’t know
Who you were,
Or what you had done
With the man I loved…
With the man I trusted.

And now,
The absence will no longer be a memory.
For every day
I will wake up and know
That you are gone.

Now, I remember your absence.
That, I will never forget.

A/N Thank you so much to my beta, the nutty imp, for helping me with this, especially for showing me the errors of my punctuating ways!

Iliveinaworldofcandy, do you?
