I said sure, and inside,
I was excited that I met someone already.
From then on, we became friends.
All was well, we looked after each other,
I was happy to have you to talk to.
Days and weeks and months went on, and,
Just when things couldn’t get better,
They didn’t, cause I became friends with your enemy.
So then you hated me.
You stopped talking to me, and started calling me a ‘mudblood’.
You don’t know how much that hurt.
You picked on me, and my new friends,
I was dying inside, and you just didn’t care.
This went on all year.
Then one night I lied in bed,
And looked out onto the moon.
I shed a tear,
One by one, until a river came.
I sat up in bed and tried,
To dry my tear stained face.
But to no avail,
The tears, they just kept coming.
I couldn’t take it anymore.
I had to talk to you.
I got up, out of my bed, and walked over to my window,
And just my luck, you were sitting
In the middle of the Quidditch Pitch.
So I owl’d you.
I asked why you were so mad at me,
Was it because I made a new friend?
I really had to know.
When I was done,
I went to the owlery to send my letter to you.
Now a week has passed,
and I’m still waiting for a reply.
