Into the Gray
I wasn’t suppose to love you,
but as you stood there weeping away,
my heart was in agony.
You clung to me in time of need.
I sung to you in your grief.
But, you don’t see me as more than a friend;
you see me as a brother not a lover.
You told me you would always be there,
but where are you in my time of need?
Where are you when I need you most?
Where are you when I need to be sung to sleep?
Still you don’t see me.
So I slowly slip into the gray.
And as I cry every night silent, tear-less and slow,
my questions are as thick as night.
I wasn’t suppose to love you
as you were always his.
But, one night I tried to show you how much you mean to me
but, you didn’t see me so you walked away.
Therefore, I died not physically;
but how I wish I did.
But mentally locking my heart away
and thus saw myself slowly slipping into the gray.
