I want to dedicate this to a friend of mine, whom I have spent almost all of my school career with. Travis passed away three months before this poem was published, but it still feels like yesterday. I wrote this a few days after, with him in my mind. Rest in peace.

A part of me now gone,
An internal universe torn,
Once you left me forever.
Our happy days,
So few,
so far away.
As I reach for your,
shining memory,
between the glistening stars,
My hand falls hopelessly,
Back to my side.
Inside my head,
I scream,
For your voice,
So I never forget,
How it sounded.
I had never realized,
How close,
We were,
And now I can't forget it,
For the world.
No matter how hard,
I try,
Nothing can erase the,
Painfully happy picture,
Of us,
Of your,
Shining face.
The gaping black hole,
Now replaces you,
In my heart,
Forever.
But your face,
Will fill my thoughts,
Always.
