The castle loomed before him,
casting shadows everywhere,
so no one would notice his look so grim.
He went onward never stopping to stare,
onward to the castle door
his black robes billowing after.
In his arms, a book he bore,
a book empty of laughter.
In that book, he brought the news,
of how it must be done.
The where, the when, the how, and the whose,
for the battle that must be won.
The doors flew open quite sudden.
There a green-eyed boy stood in wait.
His eyes flickered to the man’s burden,
for that book held his fate.
“Does it have the answer? What does it say?”
His voice shook as he said this.
The man nodded, this he had hoped to delay.
“The answers are there,” he said with a hiss.
The green-eyed boy smiled.
“The war will soon end then,
and Voldemort will be exiled.
Then we will all be freemen.”
The man gave a leery smile.
He wished things were that quickly done.
He knew it would take a while,
to win the battle that must be won.
