Chapter Notes: I like playing around with sorting hat songs so I thought I'd put some up here. Authors feel free to use them in your fics - I would feel very proud to see them at use.
I’ve heard I’m old and tattered
And maybe that is true
But I’ll know more about you
Than perhaps you ever knew,
For I’m here to serve a purpose;
To divide you into four.
I’ll group you all most cleverly
Of that you can be sure.
You see I’ll look inside your head
To find what makes you you
Then I’ll place you with your kind
So your friendships will be true.
That’s right you will be sorted
For sorting's what I know.
Yes, I’m the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I’ll tell you where to go.
Perhaps you’ll go to Gryffindor
Where the bravest here reside.
When tasks of nerve and daring come
They’re the last to hide.
Or Hufflepuff may be your place
Where you’ll toil diligently.
Your fellow Hufflepuffs are kind
And loyal as can be.
Or Slytherin may be your fate
If greatness you will seek
And you will use most any means
To reach the highest peak.
But if your wit is sharp
And your intelligence is sure
Then in Ravenclaw you’ll find
Great minds have been before.
So here we go, it’s sorting time
Quartered soon you’ll be.
