Withered grey stones,
Overgrown with weeds.
Long forgotten,
Remembered at last.
Pain grips his heart,
Tears scald his pale cheeks.
Longing fills him
With an eternal void.
Dead forever,
But never forgotten!
Memories remain,
Pictures of days gone by.
A feeling of belonging,
As if he’s not alone.
Death can’t cut blood ties,
They will always be with him.
A heavy sigh on his lips,
He rises to go.
A last look, a silent goodbye.
He will be back.
