The sun was shining down on us.
Laughing at a joke.
I looked into your face.
And saw you with your coke.
Not caring about anything.
People watching me.
You’d think they’d all be loud.
But instead, they let me be.
You were tickling me.
I was laughing very hard.
Suddenly you had this look.
And you handed me a card.
“Dear Ginny, my dearest,
We’ve been happy forever.
I know you really like me,
But I have to let you go”.
Furious, I stand.
And sadly he looks at me.
The crowd of people watching.
I looked at them and ran away.
But they just let me be.
