The Head-in-Sand Parade by Mind_Over_Matter

Printer
Summary: "In books, you see it, in war and in crusade,
Just to protect our calm, we hold: the Head-in-Sand Parade."

This came third in the December Poetry challenge! *Dance*.

It isn't exactly a 'warning', but this poem does carry some political undertones.

Everything is poetry for me at the moment!
I chose T.S. Eliot as my poet, as it was a challenge for me. I have
Old Possom's Book of Practical Cats, and everything Eliot writes has a rhythm especially different to mine - eleven to sixteen syllable lines as opposed to six to seven. Add that to a pretty complex rhyme scheme, and... yup, a challenge.
To indicate specifically, this uses almost the exact rhyme and rhythm as 'Of the Awefull Battle of the Pekes and Pollicles' (meaning 'a,a,a,b,b,b,c,c' and '11,11,11,12,12,12' etc etc etc), although obviously none of the actual words are the same and the topic is utterly different.

I'm fond of this poem though, because it feels meaningful to me, not just in the Potterverse, but in today's world.
