Sitting in a boat
As time passes by,
I look up and watch
The starry night sky.
Then suddenly in
The blink of an eye,
An idea comes to me
And hard do I try
To fall off the boat.
The idea is this:
“Fall” into the lake
And see what’s behind
That surface that’s fake.
What could be down there?
I anxiously shake,
Desperately trying
To make my boat quake.
I fall off the boat.
Oh, wond’rous of all
The things that I see.
A huge Giant Squid
Is right below me!
With little squid kids
All happy and free.
Their Mum’s in the yard
Sipping her tea.
Back into the boat.
What? Who pulled me
Back into the boat?
I could’ve stayed there
I know how to float!
Oh, it’s just Hagrid,
He gave me his coat.
Now I am sitting
With him in his boat.
Sharing Hagrid’s boat.
Now onto the shore
And into the school
Where magic’s not odd
And wizards do rule.
And though most would smirk
And call me a fool,
I know there’s one boy
Who’d think it’s real cool
To fall off a boat.
I have to tell Colin!
He’d think it’s so neat,
What I did, what I saw,
My spectacular feat.
I can’t wait to see him,
‘Cause after we greet
I’ll tell him, I’ll say,
My tale can’t be beat.
I fell off a boat!
