I came from detention,
Thinking about her.

Let out a loud purr;

The castle was quiet;
I walked through the halls.
The echo of silence

I walked in through the door,

Upon their seeing me,
They applauded, cheered;
“Hey, we won!” shouted Ron,
But I didn’t hear.
I could only see her;
She was running to me,
And I gathered her up,
My sweet, sweet Ginny,
The one girl in this world
Who could set me free.
And then I kissed her.
All time stopped.
The world was a blur.
My heart stopped.
That one moment in time,
All round us went black.
My new heart was so full,
I felt it would crack,
And all I could think was,
She’s kissing me back!
A minute or an hour
Or some sunlit days,
In the blink of an eye
Years passed in a haze.
How this kiss could be real
I knew not the ways.
At last we drew apart,
And I looked for Ron.
Hermione was grinning,
Some catcalls went on,
But all that I wanted
Was to question Ron.
Was this alright with him?
His stunned eyes mine met;
They seemed to want something,
Some hidden secret.
That odd look in his eyes
Caught me like a net.
And he nodded but once,
He ruefully smiled,
He could see that somehow
My heart had gone wild.
I wanted to thank him,
But “thanks” seemed too mild.
I looked down at Ginny,
She looked back at me,
And together we left
To go off and then see;
What became of our love
Was all up to me.
So the rest is to come,
Out future is nigh,
A great love in full bloom,
Which never can die;
The kiss of a lifetime
Had Ginny and I.
