Chapter Notes: Disclaimer: Only the poem and my laptop are mines *sighs sadly*

The Italics are what Harry is thinking/ saying to the reader (either could work) as he's writing this poem. Yes, it's a bit unorthodox, but I like it...

Bliss Era - The Happiest Man Alive

________________________________

I dreamt about looking into the Mirror of Erised last night. I haven’t looked Into that mirror in twenty-six years. I’ve dreamt about it many times, though, especially when I was back at Hogwarts. But last night was the first time (and I’m sure it won’t be the last), in dream world or the real world, that I look into that mirror and see myself exactly as I am. The last time I dreamt about that mirror was the night before Bill and Fleur’s wedding…

Many years of patience have given me,

Far more than I could have wished,

For through all of the pain and the scarcity of gains,

Who’d think that one day, I’d live in pure bliss?

But love, so powerful, with hope and faith,

Will always lead the way,

And thanks to them and a bit of miracle,

I stand as proudly as I do today.

All because of one thing. One thing to cause such content in my heart…

My family, my family!

What joys you bring to me!

This is more than worth all of the pain,

For you have set me free…

My wife and children, you are so great!

I wonder if I’m nearly worthy,

Of this complete and utter happiness,

And a life so free of worry.

I cannot thank you enough, my loving family, not nearly enough, my thanks are infinite to every single one of you…

...

My wonderful wife Ginevra,

What would I be without you, Ginny?

The love of my life and mother of our children,

You are one of the miracles given to me.

Oh Ginny, never so shy as I thought so long ago,

And an inexhaustible supply,

Of warmest compassion and loveliest love,

And of infinite comforts and smiles…

...

My first son James,

Was born on, what-seems-like-yesterday,

But now he’s such a big boy,

And my love for him grows with him every day.

I remember vividly when James was born,

A nervous wreck, I was!

With all the chaos I actually pondered,

Who was harder to face:

Becoming a father or beating Voldemort?

Sometimes I wonder now how I could dare compare two things that are complete opposites. The moment I became a father…It really is a feeling of indescribable ecstasy.

...

My second son, Albus,

Was born about a year after his brother,

It’s nice to have a son to balance out,

The pandemonium caused by the other.

The peacekeeper, Al, is badly cursed,

With uncontrollable hair like mines,

Though his Mum says it makes him very handsome,

I’m most happy he got my eyes!

They really are as green as a fresh-pickled toad, you know.

...

My only daughter Lily,

So tiny, she’s only nine,

But her fierce temper matches her flaming hair,

Reminds me of a certain wife of mine!

My little flower Lily,

She’s like a miniature Ginny!

She’ll be a heart breaker when she gets older,

And she’ll probably hex the heart out of people anyway.

You really should see some of the jinxes and hexes Ginny is teaching her. I seriously Thank my lucky stars that the Trace exists, so she can’t practice them on me (yea, this actually is Head of the Auror Office speaking)!

So now…

Now you see what joys I have,

To cherish and love until I die,

My four great treasures nobody can steal,

To them I’ll NEVER have to say goodbye…

No one to ever, ever, snatch away my happiness, My family;

Ever again…

…Many years of patience have indeed given me,

The best thing given to anybody,

…Those many years of Patience in Pain,

Have given me a family…

A/N: Well, here ya go! I'm back and I hope you liked it! I sure do, I've been editing little bits and pieces on my Word Processor since I made it. Like my other Harry poem, I know that Harry doesn't write poetry, but i couldn't help it. When inspiration hits, it hits baby, and I mean it in such a way that I was completely disconnected from the world writing this thing for like half an hour (It doesn't take me long to write the poems when I have proper inspiration). Anyway, here's my comeback poem, I hope all of you like it! You never know, I might start another series out of this

thing.

If you're wondering about the title, it was originally just "The Happiest Man Alive", based on what Dumbledore said in book 1, about the type of man who would look in The Mirror of Erised and see himself exactly how he is. The "Bliss Era" part popped into my head when I was re-reading this thing for the umpteenth time before I submitted this to MNFF. I just think that at the time of DH epilogue (which is roughly the time Harry writes this poem, I dropped hints of that in the poem itself) it's a Blissful era. I also think "Bliss Era" might be a good name for a series, if I ever decided to write companion poems to this.
