Author's Notes: Ah, yes. Hermione is a genius, isn't she? By wiping her parent's memories, she simultaneously rids herself of any need to explain what she's doing, gets her parents to safety, and erases any sadness they might feel at her death. How terribly angsty. And good to write poems about. If you need guidance on above, it's Mrs. Granger (or Monica Wilkins, as she thinks she is called) waking up one day in Australia, flicking on the television, and begining a letter to her daughter. That's when the Memory Charm kicks in, and all is forgotten.
