I was so scared that night, so dreary.
It nearly caused my breath to cease.
I realized that your soul was weary,
Yet you still renewed his lease.
And now the Mark stains dark and bright,
A reminder of the hope we lost,
Upon my forearm, holding tight,
To memories of despair and cost.
He controls you, manipulates my fate,
And never stops to care or love.
Why give him power? Why not abrogate?
Why bow our heads while he reigns above?
You told me once our family,
Was the strongest and should ne'er fear,
But now you kneel on bended knee,
To one who caused us so many tears
Now I must surrender, my pride denied,
And do what the Dark Lord bids me to.
Make sure that he is no longer defied,
Though that’s just what I, myself, long to do.
All that’s left in this world for me,
Are you and Mother, but not for long.
I’ve been giv'n a task beyond my ability,
And when I fail, I’ll soon be gone.
