Walk Away by rache

Your eyes, black as the midnight sky, look at my soul and pierce my flesh,
Thousands of words rush into my mind, but all I can do is walk away,

You are soft, my skin,
Walk away, walk away, walk away,
You’re mine, not him,
Too late, too long,
Walk away, walk away, walk away…

Clear as scent, clear as sky, Him with deep brown hazel eyes,
A thousand dreams coming true, until I know you are watching, every move, every step, every grin, every sin…
Every touch, all the moonlit stars, hand-in-hand, every kiss, every man,
Only you. You are Mine. He is His.
You are dreams-of-a-world-where-hope-comes-true-my-first-friend-my-true-mate…

You are soft, my skin,
Walk away, walk away, walk away,
You’re mine, not him,
Too late, too long,
Walk away, walk away, walk away…

Now my hair whips around my cool, long neck,
You’re still close, close enough to touch, fingertips and palms,
Hair on hands, your eyes alive again, sparkled with stars,
Where had you been?
Where have you gone?
Where are you now?

I clasp you in my hands as you turn to walk away…

You are soft, my skin,
Walk away, walk away, walk away,
You’re mine, not him,
Too late, too long,
Walk away, walk away, walk away…

Years turn by, I’m still that Girl,
Long neck with long hair, singing with the washing basket, cool breeze to dry the socks clean,
Baby boy gurgling delightfully, Him home by six.
He gives me a kiss which I return, shutting my eyes, shutting my thoughts, forgetting again as I fiercely talk, shutting the doors, mopping the floors.

Alone at last, boy in bed,
Nine o’clock, Him instead,
I wonder, long, lasting, lavish memories of the girl-and-boy-palm-in-palm,
Dark black eyes and long sunset hair,
Climbing trees, calling for birds, even a stretch of shimmering sand…

You’re soft, my skin,
Walk away, walk away, walk away,
You’re mine, not him,
Too late, too long,
Walk away, walk away, walk away…

Quiet. Stairs don’t creak. I sit up, awake. Ten to midnight, time for bed.
Strange.
Quiet house, clean floors sparkle from today’s work,
He’ll be in bed by now, as I climb the stairs,
Then stop. Stare. Strange.
Suddenly oblivion, curses and crashes, smashes,
I lose my way, my thoughts off balance as I hit the floor,
Hooded figures sweep in, I race the stairs,
Heart beating, pounding, voice tearing with screams for mercy, help, desperation,
Cackles and curses and lights hit walls,

Downstairs, I hear Him hit the floor,
My scream echoes silently as tears freeze on my cold, porcelain cheeks,
Mind numbing with denial, I hold my son to my chest,
My last hope, my last dream, my last life…

You’re soft, my skin,
Walk away, walk away, walk away,
You’re mine, not him,
Too late, too long,
Walk away, walk away, walk away…

I face the truth as the door falls away,
I stare at terror, evil, pure cold hate behind a face masked with vengeance,
Eyes red, serpent tongue, ivory skin,
I cry your name, my last thought, my dying wish,
Severus, please. Save my son, not me, love him after all these years. Remember me only when he asks, and forget the meaningless past.

You’re soft, my skin,
Walk away, walk away, walk away…

As I die, your eyes appear, from behind the man in ivory skin,
You push away your hood, your scream echoes the word I cannot say
No…
Not you,
Not now,
Not with him.

Love Harry, Sev. Love him…

I fall against your arms in a sweeping fall, I barely hit the floor as you carry me down.
One last look in your eyes tells me years of my pain,
Black, ebony, alive with tears, broken windows of the-boy-who-loved-the-girl,
Not now,
Not again,
Not forever.

You’re soft, my skin,
Walk away, walk away, walk away,
You’re mine, not him,
Too late, too long,
Walk away, walk away, walk away…
