Story Notes:

This is just a short poem based on the Veil in the Department of Mysteries.
The curtains swish in the dark,
While welcoming death to those who come.
There is no fighting to stay alive,
When your body knows you have fallen.

Through space and time,
Through light and dark,
The stars around you,
Whisper aloud.

For without inevitable death,
Cherishable life would not exist.
He knows about the power the curtains hold,
Though he pretends he does not.

The swish of the curtains echo through his head,
Calling him,
Entrancing him.

But the curtains never fail,
And neither does death.
For when they call to him,
Their sound echoes forever.

For he is hypnotized,
By the eerie call of death.
And as he walks closer,
A sense of bravery takes over him.

But so soon,
The eternal rest is soon coming,
He has always known that he would,
Die at the hand of another.

And so he smiles,
And turns to face,
The curtains that are calling,
For he will not ignore his mission of death.
