Young, Carefree, and Innocent,
Is what we used to be,
And now I am still longing,
To have you here with me.
So long ago you disappeared,
Meant never to return,
If I had known ahead of time,
I'd have shown some more concern.
I would have made you stay behind,
To keep you safe and sound,
Away from that collapsing wall,
That came tumbling to the ground.
I'll remember it forever,
That dark and fateful day,
When the followers of Voldemort,
Took you far away.
Tonight I sit here thinking,
So very on my own,
Wondering if it's possible,
For me to face unknowns.
How can I live without you?
I don't know what to say,
But I guarantee you that I'll try,
To take life day-by-day.
I know it still won't be the same,
Or like before the war,
But I promise you that I'll uphold,
All that we stood for.
I'll keep the shop up and running,
Keep lives so fun and bright,
Do all that's in my power,
To make the world all right.
I know that it's impossible,
But I'll surely do my best,
To help the people through their days,
So that they might get some rest.
That's what I'll do devoid of you,
In your loving memory,
It's what you would have wanted,
For me to be happy.
I'll never, ever forget you,
And all you mean to me,
My final wish for you would be,
That you may rest in peace.
--I love you Fred.
