Story Notes:

Main idea of this poem (my third HP story-thing!) comes from the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost (my favorite poem!).
Chapter Notes: Please review, pretty please with a cherry on top? And an e-cookie? And if anyone has ideas for the next part of the trilogy, please post.
Thanks,
Lanna
Friends we once were, though that time is now past,
I treasured her friendship and thought it would last.

I loved her like I have never loved anyone before,
I only had her friendship, but was never offered more.

I hoped that she would grow to see me in a different light,
Then he came, and this was pushed far out of my sight.

She loved him like she had never loved me,
It was horrible and painful, this, for me to see.

I ran to her, thinking to reveal,
All of the feelings I had, until now, concealed.

She looked at me with pity in her eyes,
Her ears immune to my silent cries.

She told me that we are friends and nothing more,
Then, ever so politely, she showed me the door.

She hurt me that night, but I never ceased to love her,
Even though her heart now belongs to another.

After this, I was no longer her friend,
Because like all good things, our friendship had to end.
Chapter Endnotes: Thanks for reading, PLEASE review! And ideas are welcome.
