Just so no one gets confused: The characters refer to people by their last names when they're not friends with them, and by their first name when they're friends. So, if Lily starts off by calling James "Potter" and later calls him "James," it means her mindset towards him has changed, and vice versa. Hope that wasn't too confusing!
