In the mist of the night,
On a silent, black hill,
I search for what was
Once an old boot and
Hope against hope it
Remains.
In the darkness of the night,
Under a starless expanse of sky,
I search for what I once was
To take me back to you,
A boot left by Harry for me,
For us.
In the loneliness of the night,
As cold tears drip a melodic
Largo down my frosty cheeks,
My hands clasp the ragged
Material; and inside my chest,
A heart leaps with
Bitter joy.
And in the soundless night,
A spectral blue glow
Shines upon my face
And my love for you
Pulls me through the
Eons of space but not
Time.
In the empty night,
Under a sheet of cloud,
I stand where you stood
I fall where you fell
I weep where you died
I speak to you at last,
And I know you are near.
In the comfort of the night,
In the shadows of a grave,
I tell you of the final
Battle and the defeat of the
Man who ordered your death;
The man who took your
Beauty and promise from
This world.
And in the windless night,
A passing breeze sweeps
Soft kisses across my cheeks
Across my nose
Through my hair
And it is your breath
On mine
One last time:
