Story Notes:

I do not, as usual, own J K Rowling, her characters, or her world.

It's Christmas time in magic land,

The touch of holiday's happy hand

Snow and wind can ne'er deter--

Christmas trees of pine and fir.

In the Malfoy manor sprawling,

There's a fire steadily growing.

A Christmas tree of grand opulence,

And gifts and sweets by the tens.

And cakes a-many of Elven make--

But is this just for Christmas' sake?

Is it to impress, to induce, to influence,

To extend their large affluence?

Where is that warmth that can never

Be brought by any man-made fire?

Where is the warmth that's all above--

Where is the warmth of human love?

In the Weasleys' lair, we see

A rather very happy family.

Very rich-- no, they're not

Just a bed, a table, a chair, a cot.

But with a fire beside their beds

And a roof above their heads,

A single cake freshly baked,

And Christmas spirit, again waked.

Merry Christmas!

Chapter Endnotes: I hope you enjoyed this little Christmas spirit-influenced ditty! Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year!
