Story Notes: Warning: THIS IS AN AU. Though only a few things in the canon have changed, there are specifics shifts that I consider might have happened if one small circumstance - Harry and Ron not making amends with Hermione - might have changed the rest of the series. This story also features an amateurish look into teen depression and mentions suicidal thoughts, so please read with caution

Just to reiterate, this story focuses greatly on Hermione and how her estrangement from Harry and Ron during PoA might have affected, and even endangered her during this time. I personally viewed this time in Hermione's life as one of extreme vulnerability; she was running on very little sleep, terrifying quantities of stress and responsibility, and for months had absolutely no one to talk to about everything on her mind. For a girl of Hermione's age, even for such a precocious and brace girl as Hermione, such levels of emotional distress can be extremely debilitating and dangerous.
