While I normally allow my poems to be interpreted as the reader wishes, I just wanted to note that the intended focus of this was to show finding light in the darkness - most notably after the Battle. Its theme, though, is fairly universal for humanity in general, and that is hope.
Still your tears, o Children;
Hours mark the fleeting beat,
The subtle course,
The tempest heat,
And dwell where the warmth shall carry on.
Hear the song, o Children;
The notes impart a mournful tune,
For all that’s lost,
For all that’s gained,
And cajole the morning’s strains into the sky.
Take my hand, o Children;
Come away from the dark,
From the quiet,
From the cold,
And walk where the light may shine again.
