Story Notes:

Thanks for reading c:
Chapter Notes: I don't really know why, haha. I just wanted to write some poetry, lawl.

Another day dawned;
The world was going on about its business.
How were so many people unaware--
Unaware of the slaughter,
Of the pain and the suffering,
The loss and the depressions,
That had taken place on the face of their Earth?

So many dead,
Destruction and mayhem wrecked upon an ancient castle.
The people gathered in great numbers among the wreck
And watched a new sun rise
With tired eyes and stinging wounds
And broken hearts and empty words
And were forced to begin another day alone.

A trio stood against the brightening sky,
Their hands intertwined as they stood before the broken crowd,
Their clothing unclean and torn,
With matted hair and soiled skin,
With tear-stained cheeks
And striking scars,
Yet they stood stiffly with a bright, strengthening light in their eyes.

–A new day begins,”
One of the trio makes herself heard,
Her voice ringing around the silent courtyard.
–And we all must find a way to carry on.
The loss hangs upon all our hearts,
But to continue is in our best interests,
Because we know that's what they'd all want us to do, our dead friends and family.”

–And what comes next,”
Cried a second's voice,
–Is to create a new world,
One on a foundation of peace,
And of a bright hope for new future
And a new compassion.
Because that's what we need to live our lives without turmoil.”

–It will be hard,”
Yelled the last of the trio.
–I lost a brother today.”
His voice cracked with a sadness that held them all in chains of iron,
–And I know how it feels to experience the pain,
But Fred was always finding the light in the dark.
So that's exactly what we're going to do, all of us, together.”

The courtyard was alight then,
Hundreds of wands raised in the frigid morning air,
With cries of a new dawn, a new day,
And the cheers of a few left with some voice.
The hope coursed through them all,
And the thought of a new world was born,
Leaving them all with something to help them sleep when the nightmares of the fight haunted them.

Beyond the three considered strong, across a blood-stained ground,
A crimson streak broke across the horizon,
Almost as a tribute to the blood spilt,
To the lives lost,
To the families torn apart,
To the villains who had slayed so many,
But mostly to those who remained to rebuild a struggling humanity.

Chapter Endnotes: review itttt? even though it's small, hah
