A Wintry Lust
The Christmas lights twinkle amid the
fresh pine wafting the night air;
the cheery bustle and babble
entwined with foamy butter beer,
the stuffed gnome glaring, motionless, at
the careless festivities below.
Mistletoe scattered among the decorative halls
and winding staircases,
softly calling, tugging the
youthful heart into its den of mischief-
His untidy hair, as coal, the fuel
for her fiery red locks,
emerald staring into dark amber eyes,
fervent lust enclosing them.
Their private moment so tender, alit
with the silky flicker of candle flame,
glowing with their newfound love, thriving
off high spirits of the holiday;
the winter season now warmed by
pleasant memories and blissful dreams.
