The Darkest Realm
Rage surging through every pore;
Fury alit in the fiery mind;
A cold hardness that expels
Every tender feeling from
The warm cockles of the heart.
And blackness descends, thick,
Overpowering, suffocating,
Expanding into every vein,
And shadowing the very soul,
Ripping, wrenching it apart.
Treasured possessions coveted:
The heavy golden locket,
A badger's tiny cup,
An eagle's wise tiara,
An old family ring,
A simple diary hiding secrets,
A reliable slithery friend.
The darkness envelopes each kind,
Develops into an invincible protection,
Deepens the frightening hold on life's sting.
Delving further into the realmsÂÂ
Of dark magic;
Twisting, maiming his once strong
And innocent soul
To a permanence; he refuses a pure return.
Too numb to feel the thrill
Of each protection losing
Their once pulsing veins,
And the madness overcomes him;
His proud downfall is all he earns.
