Petrified Desire
Moldering and grey lies the heart
Who was ambushed by the fiery
Arrows, whose emotions are now
Billowing out in thick white abandonment,
Embers slowly fading away to
Leave behind the charcoaled abyss.
The monster had gorged the
Dreams, dried up every fantasy,
And in its wake, a wasteland begins,
Eddies of ashes smoldering the light,
Smothering every last flicker of hope.
Scarred and petrified lies the soul
Who withstood the battle fire,
Whose lungs had drowned on
The sorrows of ashes, swallowed up
All the smoking despair.
The torrid flames had seared
The once willing mind, left thoughts
To curl-up paper thin and wisp
Into the stale, hot wind.
