Faust Arp
Deadly whispers linger,
Effusing shadows with
The stale and gruesome air
That mingles and twists
With the icy, macabre water.
Endless darkness reigns,
Echoing past terrors,
Poisoning the very cavern walls
With stifling fear.
Under the harsh glassy sea,
Stark and pale faces stare
Into nothingness, skin
Melted remains fused
Over gaunt petrified bones.
An eerie stillness settles,
Skeletal hands pressed against
The marbled surface that
Chains them to the depths
Of the underworld.
They await their chilling command:
Kill.
Kill.
Kill.
*A huge thank you to Poetry Anyone? and to the opaleye, for really helping me to jump start my poetry and grow from an infant in writing to a now somewhat older infant verging on my Terrible Twos. :)*
