It’s Christmas Time in Diagon Alley
For Diagon Alley, it is Christmas time-
Mistletoe sprigs and silver-tipped leaves,
Poinsettia stems and flocked evergreens,
Wreaths flecked with gold and tinsel décor,
Bunches of holly frame every store,
And the people all bustle, coins jingling
As enchanted bells chime out ring-a-ling.
The cobblestone streets welcome each guest,
And the tender snow falling leaves each one blessed
As they gather together in hopes to achieve
A wonderful Christmas that they can perceive.
Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts exchange hands
As stock starts to dwindle and increases demand:
Brooms and cauldrons and telescopes;
Books and phials and Malkin’s robes;
Sweets and pastries and creams galore-
The crowds expand, insisting more.
And purses empty as boxes fill,
Each with a promise of Christmas thrill,
Each with a promise of holiday cheer,
Each with a promise to ring in the new year.
And soon it is silent as stars fill the night-
For Diagon Alley, it is Christmas time.
