Therein the throes of evil they do thrash,
All mottled skin, sinew, and bone,
Clawing at the smoke and ash.
Magic spells can only gash
The bodies they no longer own-

The innocents they slay and slash-
Innocents left to die alone,
Clawing at the smoke and ash.
From dreaded heat and fire flash,
These monsters shy with daunting moans-

Against the way of nature they do clash,
Reanimated for purposes that darkness is prone,
Clawing at the smoke and ash.
The devil bids them forth to slash
The pure and good, to force obeisance to his throne.
