I am a recent member of the Harry Potter fandom, but I have always had a passion for the written word, and I hope to fulfill it here. I live in a relatively boring corner of Idaho, and I like Kokanee and a good book!

So, I suppose you're wondering what's up with my username. Even if you're not, this is how that happened. No, I was not aspiring to be a Gryffindor. I can't think of any house to which I would belong less than Gryffindor, in fact. It was a moment of clarity that I got while I was battling with myself about whether I should want to be Sorted into Gryffindor to be like Harry or to be Sorted elsewhere and follow my own path. I thought it to be much like the contemplative scene in Hamlet when he weighed taking his own life. I'm not trying to be melodramatic. That's simply is what popped into my head when I was trying to sign up to leave a review. :D

Any questions or comments about my work? Please shoot me an email at: tobeornottobeagryffindor@mugglenet.com — I'd love to hear from you!

The Stars As My Witness by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: I cannot see their bodies, buried beneath the ruins of their life together, but I know they are there. I can imagine their green and hazel eyes, staring into the dark emptiness. It is all I can do to stay upright, filled with equal parts rage and grief as I gaze unseeing at the heartbreaking scene.

How did it come to this?

Lacuna Mentis by hestiajones

Before I Forget by hestiajones

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Sometimes, the visions are mere flickers – hazy and muddled. Sometimes, their clarity shakes me out of the limbo. But I’m always sure it is him I see.

I’d have loved to tell you the whole story, but you see, I cannot remember much of it.

Thanks to Kara (Karaley Dargen) for her wonderful beta-ness. :) And Carole (Equinox Chick) for 'Warwick'. ;)

DISCLAIMER: Everyone/everything you recognise immediately belongs to J.K.Rowling. However, the first names of the Death Eaters (except the main characters) aren't canon. The pairing, of course, is mine.

Remembering Lily by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: A lonely figure walks down the street, long auburn hair trailing behind her in the blustery wind. She pulls a red wool coat snug around her, gloved hands tucked into pockets as she wanders the sidewalk, glancing up at the shop fronts. She is young, but her face is lined with sadness, as if searching for something she has lost. Her green eyes long for answers.

Across the way a young man stops and stares at the woman in the red coat, hardly daring to believe it might be her. And yet as she turns and walks back up the street, he knows it is, and his heart stops beating for a moment. He blinks, just to see if she will disappear from his life once more, like she did over a year ago.

She doesn't.

Harmony by hestiajones

Thanks to Jess for encouraging me to publish this.

I wrote this, not J.K.Rowling; she doesn't ship Harmony. :P

Eyes That Know Me by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Having just been dumped by his girlfriend, Hugo Weasley is not in the mood for his cousin's party, even when James assures him that he'll soon snap up a 'wicked-looking witch'. And with Lily hell-bent on fixing him up with the boring Eliza Finch-Fletchley, the evening looks to be taking a sharp turn for the worse.

But on the other side of the room, one guest is watching him closely. Will Hugo be able to resist?

The Sexual situations are mild and the strong profanity is fleeting (but necessary) hence the rating.

This story was originally written for a Musical drabble exchange in the SBBC. The song that inspired me was 'Falling Slowly' by Glen Hansard. Thanks must go to Lia (Liandrin) for introducing me to the song, Jess (ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor) for beta'ing the original drabble, and Elene (CoolCatElly) for beta'ing the extended version.

Finally, thank you Natalie (hestiajones) for introducing me to the whole concept of Scugo.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling or Glen Hansard. I just nick bits of their work and mould it into something else.

Nomintated for a 2011 QSQ in the Best Same Sex Category. Thank you.

Defiance by lucca4

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

Nearly eighty years have passed since the Battle of Hogwarts, yet Padma Patil cannot banish the string of tragic memories from her mind. A part of her still holds onto them as a way to see the faces of those she has lost once more.

Her memories tell the story of a young woman too afraid to fight against Voldemort’s regime. Throughout her final year at Hogwarts, Padma had been forced to choose between defying the Death Eaters and keeping her loved ones safe. Her decision is one that will ultimately haunt her for the rest of her life.

Nominated for a 2011 QSQ - Best Dark/Angsty Story

I am lucca4 of Gryffindor and this is my final for the Missing Moments class on the MNFF Beta Boards.

Master Barty Regrets by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: At the Yule ball in 1994, Harry watches Mad-Eye Moody clump across the floor with a long-suffering Professor Sinistra. What no one knows, however, is that the dancer is Barty Crouch.

This poem was for a challenge in Poetry Anyone. We had to use music from the films as inspiration for a poem. I chose two pieces from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - the waltz and 'Do the Hippogryff' by The Weird Sisters.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, Jarvis Cocker or any type of musician.

How the Prince Stole Christmas by L A Moody

Over A Mug of Tea by hestiajones

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: I think of her as a sister.

The words rang clearly, loudly in his mind.

I think of her as a sister.

But did he?

Happy Birthday, Julia! You know you're one of the only two people on earth I'd do this for. :D

Thank you, Carole, for looking it over. And I am so not J.K.Rowling.

Nominated for a QSQ in the General Category.

Juggling by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Lily Evans wasn’t the only Gryffindor with a childhood friend. Whilst she was meeting the boy who would introduce her to the magical world, someone else was learning how to mix with Muggles.

This is not, however, a story about Lily Evans. This is a tale about James Potter and the Muggle girl that he never quite forgot.

This story is for Natalie (hestiajones) who makes me laugh more than most people and has been a very supportive friend, despite our separate continents. Happy Birthday, mate!

I’m indebted to Gina (Gmariam) who kindly offered to beta this short one-shot, and then didn’t complain when it mushroomed into a chaptered fic.

Because of an archive gliitch, this fic has been temporarily put down a rating. the content remains the same and it is still a 6th-7th. You have been warned.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. If I had been, then Sirius, Remus, James, Lily and Tonks would not have died. Peter, however would have died in an icky manner

OMMPP! Juggling won 2 QSQ's for Best Chaptered Marauder and Dita won Best Original Character. Seriously pleased and shocked here. Thank you.

The chapter titles are all from Keane songs.
