The Unforgiven by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

The Battle of Hogwarts brought out the best in some and the worst in others. And not everyone emerged knowing into which group they had fallen. Susan Bones was one of these individuals. But when she came face to face with one of the war's unforseen victims, she began to wonder whether she didn't truly belong in the latter category.

Then again, not all was what it seemed — not when it came to Theodore Nott.

This is a birthday token for the delightful and talented Ariana/lucca4, who doesn't seem to realise quite how talented and jealousy-inducing she is. I hope her day has been half as wonderful as she is. :)

Taking Direction by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: What if the characters in the Harry Potter films were portrayed—not by actors—but by the book versions of themselves, as created by Rowling? How might things unfold on that set? What would the characters think of the changes made from the stories they’d already lived out… to the ones written for the script?

This fic is a series of one-shots, posted as chapters, each from the perspective of a different character who is dealing with the changes occurring between the book and the script.

Holy Movie Canon, Batman! This fic won the 2011 Quicksilver Quill Award for Best Chaptered Humor Story. Thanks so, so much!

Sweet Transvestite by welshdevondragon

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
How else would he ever be able to stand in front of his father in fishnets, six inch heels, a short black dress and make up?

Hugo Weasley has a secret, and he doesn’t want his father to find out. However, he may have no say in the matter.

This story is written for lucca4/Ariana who is a wonderful writer and was lovely and enthusiastic about the December Drabble that prompted this idea. This story does, surprisingly, contain discussion of and mention of transvestism. Since that’s not an official warning, I thought it worth mentioning.

This is welshdevondragon of Gryffindor writing for the Fiendish Firsties Great Hall School of Mischief challenge. The title is from the song Tim Curry sings in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The Lions of Gryffindor by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: It is June 1976 and The Marauders are at the top of their game. From the outside they look to have everything. But appearances, as the saying goes, can be deceptive.

James is discovering that not everything in life is his for the taking. Sirius knows he will have to defy his formidable family. Remus lives in constant fear of his life beyond Hogwarts. As for Peter... Well, Peter is struggling to live up to his friends.

The ties of friendship are strong, but war is raging and with a dark power rising those ties will inevitably fray.

Added to the mix is an adversary called Severus Snape, some lost House Points, a prank or two and a whole lot of Lily.

This is a Marauder tale.

This is a story of what made them special.

This is a story of why it started to go wrong for The Lions of Gryffindor.

OH MY GOOD GODRIC! Lions of Gryffindor won the 2009 QSQ for Best Marauders' Era Story. Amazed and incredibly grateful to those who nominated, judged and have beta'd this fic. THANK YOU.

But Not a Passing Fancy by expecto_patronuts

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: There was somebody Scorpius liked hard, even though he couldn't do anything about it. Years after, when they meet again by accident, will he work up the courage to finish what never started?

For the lovely lucca4, because she added me to her favourite authors!

The Sum of the Whole by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: '...Benjy Fenwick, he copped it too, we only ever found bits of him ...'

At school Sirius knew Fenwick didn't like him. Following him around, or docking points, he was always in his face and trying to piss him off. Years later they are paired up on a mission for the Order. Can they overcome their mutual loathing and work together?

This is Equinox Chick from the Badger Sett writing her ... um ... seventh entry for the Inaugural Great Hall Cotillion. One more may kill me, but I shall give it a go.
Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. That should be obvious.

Thank you, Nat, for setting the pace and Alex for joining in. Our padded cells await us on March 1st.

Forever Dancing by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Sitting in my room watching raindrops dancing on the window pane, I try to catch the attention of the passers by, but no one can see.

They never see.

In her room at St Mungo's, Alice sits and waits.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. She wrote in so few words a scene between Neville and Alice that never fails to make me cry.

This story was inspired by the song Shadows in the Rain, by The Police. It was originally a drabble written for the lovely Ariana (lucca4) in the SBBC Musical Drabble Exchange.

Thank you, Natalie (hestiajones) for beta'ing the original drabble.

A Splendid Fate by hestiajones

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: One failed photograph, two halved souls, and the numerous, marvellous machinations of destiny.

This story is a multi-functional product of four days' continuous typing and lack of sleep. It serves an entry for the Inaugural Great Hall Cotillion and a standby Birthday Present for Julia/the opaleye. More importantly, it marks my return to fanfiction after two months' hiatus, because that is kind of inhumanly long.

Thanks to Kara for reading the Prologue and motivating me, and Carole for Chipping-on-the-Wye.

DISCLAIMER: J.K.Rowling, I love you for giving me the HP universe, but you are not me and you definitely did not write this.

Apple-bobbing by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Lisa Turpin - new recruit to Dumbledore's Army - is determined to prove her worth to the team. But when Ginny Weasley informs her that her patrol partner has changed, she isn't at all happy. Susan Bones is not a girl she's had much to do with, for the Hufflepuff girl has never excelled at anything.

But can an hour on patrol, and an accident with a foul smelling egg change things between them?

This story was an emergency fic for Natalie's birthday (in case I pulled the other one), but is also a Halloween tale about life under Snape and the Carrows. I have to thank Alex (welshdevondragon) for beta'ing and being AIM available for a chat.

Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling. You know that, don't you?

Stars or Carousels by Equinox Chick

Rated: Professors •
Summary: If you’re smart and funny, you’re popular. Add some undeniable good looks, and you become very popular.

A hero who will always get the girl.

But for James Sirius Potter, the girl he wants is unobtainable.

This is a present for Natalie (hestiajones) because not only is it her birthday, but she’s a fantabulous friend and an all round amazing person. (and I hope she doesn’t mind what I’ve done ... eeeep)

It’s possible that this pairing may squick you out. I appreciate people have different thoughts on this but advise you to keep an open mind until the end of the story.

Due to a VERY annoying glitch in the archives that won;t let readers access stories above 3rd-5th, I have TEMPORARILY lowered the rating. This story is STILL a PROFESSORS story. You click at your own risk.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, but if I were, then I’d be living in a huge house in London, with a basement, for teh flist, and buying Alex Turner especially for Natalie.

Winner of the Best Chaptered Next Generation Story in the 2012 QSQ awards. Thank you :D

The Only One by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Victoire Weasley is in her third year studying to be a Healer. She is beautiful. She is bright. But she's alone. Since splitting up with Teddy Lupin, only one person has come close to disturbing her dreams.

Unfortunately, he happens to be the professor standing in front of her. She knows he has a partner, but she also knows that he's distracted.

This story is a prequel to my Next Gen fic High. It is not necessary to read that to understand this, but reading Lavender, blue - A Gryffindor True might help, although you should get the gist.

Happy Birthday. Ariana (lucca4) You are an incredible writer. (She also left me a shedload of reviews when I deleted the whole of High.)

Thank you, Natalie. You are a stellar beta and a wonderful friend.

Disclaimer: I am not JKR, but I make fab spag bol.

Up in the Air by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

To Harry Potter, his life's destiny was to save the world, become an Auror, and be with Ginny Weasley forever. He did all right on the first. The second wasn't turning out to be all he thought it would, and the third... well, that's a story for a different day.

Where does that leave the Chosen One so soon after his twenty-fourth birthday? And will a past acquaintance show him what or even who he wanted for his future?

This story has been nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Non-Canon Romance Story.

Inch of Dust by the opaleye

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: When George thinks of her, he thinks of Fred.

So, he tries not to think at all.

Nominated for a 2011 Quicksilver Quill Award in Best Dark/Angsty, Best Canon Romance, and Best Post Hogwarts.

Innocence by Evora

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: If Remus hadn't been born, the lives of the people he had entered would be different, correct? He wouldn't have caused them pain, disappointment... and grief. Most of all, he wouldn't have been the cause of why his parents' happiness was suddenly gone.

Of course, it was all just wishful thinking. He was still a werewolf, no matter what he did.

Waking by the opaleye

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

He cannot bring himself to think the name. There is a glimpse of red. A laugh. A fumbled apology. A friendship.

How a death may change a life or two.

Winner of Best Non-Canon Romance in the Quick Silver Quill Awards 2010
