Hey, everyone.

I'm Kate. I'm just your average 22-year-old girl. I love writing, and I absolutely adore Harry Potter, so you put two and two together, and you get this.

I love the James/Lily genre; it's my favorite because there's so much left to the imagination
I'm also a Harry/Hermione 'shipper' [oh, how I detest that word!], even though it'll never happen, but I've just never been able to picture Ron and Hermione together...it's too weird.

Some things you might be interested in knowing:
1) I will keep a running tally of how my stories are getting along here, once the whole process starts going...so if you want to know, just look.
2) My favorite part of writing is writing emotions. I love creating thoughts and feelings for my characters...fleshing them out, instead of making them all action. I like to think it shows in the finished product.
3) As you will come to notice, I tend to make numbered lists. A lot.

But for now, we all just have to sit and wait for the lovely administrators to validate my submissions...I've been having trouble with that...the whole validation thing. But as they say, patience is a virtue.

Stories So Far
1 - Just Sand and Water - This is intended to be the first part of a mostly James/Lily-centric 'Marauder Era' series of stories...as of right now, it's looking to be fairly long, but I do have the whole thing planned out. Chs 1 [prologue] - 7 are validated. Ch 8 is waiting for validation, as of the moment.

Stay tuned!

MOMENTS OF BLISS by moonymaniac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Remus Lupin is a man with a tragic past, filled with pain, suffering and sorrow. But it is also a past filled with great adventure, true friendship and…love? Even though the odds were against him, Remus found happiness at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had the Marauders, he was a prefect and his transformations were less horrible, thanks to his Animagi friends. What more could a teenage werewolf want? And how long could his happiness last? Remus and the Marauders prove that in the saddest of lives and darkest of times, there can still be moments of bliss.

Remus centric but with a lot of the other Marauders. This story is a romance, but has almost as much general Marauder era background and side story as romance.
Pre-HBP and DH, so some things from DH will be disregarded, as the warning indicates, but some Spoilers will be incorporated.

Things Aren't Always Black and White by padfootsgirl1981

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
2009 QSQs: Runner-up: Best Romance - Other Character Story

Add together one ladies' man, one Quidditch player, one werewolf, and one soon-to-be traitor. Then, mix in one imaginative idiot, one fiery redhead, one clever Ravenclaw, and one blonde artist. Follow the story of the four Marauders and four equally troublesome girls. See them deal with their first encounters of love, sorrow, heartache… and Death Eaters. How will these future Order members cope with the ordeals that life throws at them? Will love blossom in what was once thought a highly unlikely place? What do you do when the person you care about most in the world doesn’t seem to notice you at all? Will a well-kept secret shatter the foundations of a seven-year friendship? Follow the lives of these friends through their last year at school to the dramatic final battle with Lord Voldemort two decades later.

Warnings are for later chapters, and any sexual situations are very minor.

Chapter Twenty Two: "The Snakes Strike" is in the queue. Excerpt:

Perfume filled his nostrils as Emma walked passed and Rosier’s gaze lingered on her bare, pale legs as the group headed outdoors. “Don’t you just love summer?” he inquired of Regulus, a hungry sneer lighting his face.

“This is ridiculous,” Regulus announced in a furious whisper, “we’re never going to get them alone!”

“Have faith, Black,” commanded Rosier smoothly. “Girls are well renowned for their desire for girly chats. I’m sure they’ll slip off the shackles of their chaperones soon enough.”

Questioning the Freak and the Whale by Phenioxsong22

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Lily has planned this meeting from the day she and James began dating. First, there would be the greetings between James and her parents. Then, dinner would come. This would be closely followed by a time to just chat and have her parents and boyfriend become acquainted with each other. Everything would be perfect. But this all changes after her sister’s insufferable boyfriend shows up, “Black” magic goes haywire, and her parents don’t return from ‘their honeymoon all over again’ until the next day. Couples battle it out, and it seems no one will make it out in one piece after three arm wrestling matches, a bounding black dog, and an angry exchange. This meeting is certainly not going as planned...

Chapter 7 Updated!!

Friendship, Love, and Pranks: The Story of the Marauders by Padfoot is MINE

They're unstoppable, and it's safe to say that once they're gone, Hogwarts will never be the same again.

...let's make ours worth watching.

Gratification and Justification by Cinderella Angelina

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Victoire Weasley can hardly believe it herself. How is it that she's suddenly developed feelings for her best friend, Teddy Lupin, and in his last year of Hogwarts too? Now she must spend her sixth year not only adjusting her long-held sensibilities of how their relationship should work, but his as well.

There's not always a reason for everything that happens, and sometimes the reward for action looks more like a consequence. But that's just how life goes sometimes.

Of Cauldrons and Comrades by LuthAn

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "Albus Dumbledore aimed his wand at the Pensieve’s liquid depths and twitched his arm upwards. Ten ghostly figures slowly emerged from the liquid, their bodies spun out of the translucent matter. The Gryffindor Class of 1978..."

We all know how this tale ends, but how does it begin? Did Lily hate James from Day One? Did James fall head over heels the moment he first laid eyes on Lily? How did Remus feel about the whole thing? Who let Peter slip through the cracks? And what exactly happens when Sirius gets hold of some Time-Release Dungbombs?

The Marauders' years at Hogwarts were marked by internal demons, external tensions, and whispers from the shadows growing steadily louder. By intertwining lives in the midst of danger. By powerful love and a whole lot of laughter. This is their story, a tale of cauldrons and comrades.

Thrice Defied by leighpotter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: So, it’s James and Lily’s last year at Hogwarts.
All the year ahead of them full of spells, arguments, Quidditch, arguments, detention, arguments...But, this time, something is different. James Potter is more determined than ever to win Lily Evans’s heart and she seems to be considering.

Maybe, just maybe, a year of rule-breaking, rule-following and fighting for their lives will liven up the romance at Hogwarts...
A story that’s centred on the (inevitable!) romance of Lily and James but also one that goes into the darker sides of that last seventh year. Prepare yourselves for a little R.A.B. , a few Horcuxes, a dash of lovesick Severus and more than a few brilliant moments between the fights, the laughs, the fluff and the danger!

Warnings for extra funny Sirius and Remus moments (that include a love-potion gone wrong and marriage proposals due to drink) , alarming giggling spells from a character who bears more than a resemblance to our own Loony Lovegood, Quidditch talk from a fun Alice Vance, evil Bellatrix and Narcissa, and Lily and James in the middle of it, falling in love without knowing...

AU warning (not for some horrifying reason as you may assume – like Lily dying or Remus turning into a chicken – but because two of the characters – namely Lucius and Bella – are in Lily and James’ seventh year as well when we know from canon that they're older! Just a minor difference but then I really needed some nastiness in the story!)
xxx leighpotter ;)

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Sirius was just trying to help his best mate. It wasn't supposed to be like this. Inspired by Imogen Heap's The Walk. Sirius/Lily.

Seductive Lies and Destructive Truth by Serious4Siriusss

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: James Potter is about to begin his seventh and final year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He has plans for this year, big plans, and they just so happen to involve a girl by the name of Lily Evans (as if they hadn’t for the past six years).

Lily Evans is doing the same, starting school and setting goals. And her one goal for this year is to keep the thing she loathes most in the world, as distant as wizardly possible. That thing just happens to be James Potter.

The girl that he wants, wants nothing to do with him.

And the boy that she would love nothing to do with, won’t leave her alone.

As if that isn’t enough to deal with, Voldemort is growing stronger everyday and he may just change their lives in a way they never thought possible.

A story of Lust, Heartbreak, betrayal and discovering that true love lurks in the most unexpected places.

A/N: Although this is Primarily a James/Lily romance, the Marauders and some original characters star in it as well.

Not a Maybe Thing by HoneydukesAddict

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Lily knew that James was nothing but trouble. He was rude, conceited, and indifferent to anyone that wasn't in his group of friends. She had known him to be that way for six long years.

But their seventh year comes, and Lily slowly begins to see that he is no longer the boy he was. Now Lily sees herself more clearly, and she isn't sure she likes what she sees.

This is the almost-forgotten story of Lily and James's romance, and what they went through to become the heroes that were Harry Potter's parents.

Nifflers, Otters and Shrew by tickled_pink

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: What happens when the man Hermione feels far too embarrassed to ever see again (due to events entirely out of her control ... well, almost ... ) turns up as the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher? The War is raging, the N.E.W.T.s are approaching, and the only question circling through Hermione's head (much to her annoyance) is whether or not five years older is too old.

It seems to be out of her control once again; avoiding Oliver Heaney for her entire seventh year seems not only difficult, but well near impossible ...

Excerpt from Chapter Eight

Oliver was a nervous wreck all through his seventh year class.

It took all of his will-power not to glance Hermione’s way every three seconds. He risked it only a handful of times, making sure never to do so when her face was looking in even remotely his direction.

As is usual with one who is out of control of a course of events one began, Oliver began to panic. Second-guessing himself was not something Oliver was prone to, and yet here he was, asking himself those terrifying questions. Did she get the note? Has she read it yet? What if it was all a bad idea? What if it all went horribly wrong?

What if she took the note straight to Minerva and told her everything?

Don't worry, this story hasn't been abandoned, just moving in a different direction than I originally planned!

Story now complete. Book 2 is on its way!

Symphony for Quartet by Tinn Tam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

Winner of the QuickSilver Quills Award, categ. Best Marauder Era.

What did being a Marauder truly mean?... Let's just say that some tunes cannot be played by a lone musician; and those four's lives were certainly not soloists' scores. In class or in detention, in Quidditch matches or full-moon wanderings, fleeing before monsters or confronting dark wizards, they wrote, measure after measure, their own eight-handed piece.

Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, are proud to present a Symphony for Quartet.

And it starts with me getting a detention with Iola (through no fault of my own, of course). And we kind of ... almost ... well, we get on alright. A friendship sparks, shall we say. I have no idea how it happens It is meant to be. But it’s going to take some fighting for if we want to keep it. It would be a lot easier to just stick to what we know, really. We were perfectly happy hating each other. But ... well. I guess you’ll have to find out!
