You Want To Make A Memory? by Potter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Chapter Ninety Six is posted!

This is the story of four boys. This is the story of a boy from a family he wants to escape from. This is the story of a boy who is from a family he loves deeply, but lacks the gift of a best friend. This is the story of a boy who has been living with a curse his entire life, fighting to overcome it. This is the story of a boy who wishes to show people what he can do. This is the story of how these four boys came to know each other, of how they became friends. This is the story of their unbreakable bond, of a bond that could survive any test, any trial. I've read the last few chapters a few times, and I think you did a great job in portraying Ginny's thoughts and emotions, even though I'm pretty sure it would take something a little more dramatic than Harry breaking up with her to get her to break down like this, I really like the plot. Update soon, can't wait to read more! : )

Author's Response: It\'s not just the break up with Harry, it was just that is what pushed her over the edge. Remember there is so much going on around her, the war, half her family in the order, probably stressed with school like every other student. Anorexia is alot about having control and she can\'t control these things so she has looked towards something else that she can keep control of. Thanks for reading and reviewing. emma x x x

Wow, 132 reviews... yet I can't help but add one more. :)

This was amazing, and clever, and hilarious, and my family is going to have me committed because I laughed for twenty minutes straight! Your portrayal of Malfoy was the BEST EVER.

PS: Any idea how long it'll take me to stop laughing? I'm getting worried....

This was a wonderful poem,
It made me cry all over again.
For those wonderful people we lost,
It summed up the pain.

Author's Response: *giggles* A poetry review for a poem! Very shnazzy! :D Thanks!

(Hope you don't think I'm a cheesy, poet-wannabe twit, this is just how I feel. Thank you. I needed to stop and think about those we lost.)

Author's Response: Awww, never a twit. I\'m glad you liked it enough to say that; the many deaths made me cry buckets too.

The title was inspired by Fall Out Boy's album title, From Under the Cork Tree.

That Which Cannot Kill Me by lilypotter93

Summary: Lily Evans is not happy. Voldemort is gaining power, tensions between herself and Petunia are growing, her bridesmaid dress is pink, and to top it all off, JAMES POTTER is the new Head Boy! Melodramatic Myrtle by Everlasting

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Myrtle has been lonely for years without Harry, but when she meets someone too similar to him she realizes the fun can begin all over again.
Reviewer: SilverLily_13 Signed
Date: 09/09/07 Title: Chapter 1: Myrtle's a Mess

This is really good, but I don't think James had green eyes. The book said "Alone of Harry's three children, Albus had inherited Lily's eyes." You may want to fix that, but otherwise I think it's very funny, in a wierd-ish sort of way.

Author's Response: Yeah, I was kinda confused on that too - I didn\'t have my book on the time and I\'d only read the epilogue once, the night it came out. I wrote this about a week ago and I don\'t really have the best memory - but thanks for pointing that out! And thanks for reading and reviewing :]

For a sec at the beginning I thought it was Petunia's POV, you know, her feeling sorry for him...it kinda worried me. Dumbledore makes so much more sense. Good job!

Author's Response: LOL, that would worry me, too. ;)

Thanks!

That was great! Very very sad...but great! I liked how it went through time instead of being imobile in one place...good job. And Merry Christmas!

Author's Response: Merry Christmas! Thank you- Since i read DH, i\'ve taken a huge interest in Lily\'s life. She had a really good friend, but the houses took it all awy. Blame the houses. Thank you so much for reviewing!

I love love LOVE this story. I've been with this since the beginning, and then I fell behind with the reading.... Anyway, I'm not sure if I've commented on previous chapters, but this is absolutely brilliant. (I know this last chapter was written forever ago, too, but... I did fall behind!)

I'm so happy you wrote this. I love how Sev is SMART and witty, and you have a very extensive vocabulary. :) This is probably one of my favorite fics ever, so please keep on writing!!

The depth you give all these characters is so believable, they have more than one layer to every emotion. You give them a lot of thoughts that really help narrate the story in an intriguing way, and they are all very dynamic characters, too! Even the OCs, who usually are very hard to connect with, but I love Mary in this story--funny and charming girl, I can tell she really loves Sev and Lily.

Can't wait for another chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for such a kind review. :) I am trying to keep up with this, but one beta has disappeared off the face of the earth, and the other is looking at the next chapter right now. I have to admit that I'm a bit stuck on their 7th year-- I'm having a much easier time writing their post-Hogwarts life than their last year as students. But I'm still working away at it. I'm glad you like the character of Mary-- I thought a story that was all Severus, Lily, and the Marauders might get a bit predictable. :)

Behind the Curtain by Virgil

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

“…he fell through the ancient doorway and disappeared behind the veil, which fluttered for a moment as though in a high wind and then fell back into place… Sirius must be just behind the curtain…”

Sirius Black didn’t die when he fell through the veil in the Department of Mysteries. He was transported to another world: our world, where Hogwarts doesn’t exist and magic lives only in the fantasy books. As Sirius tries to understand this strange new world and find his way home, he runs into some unlikely old friends. Nothing is the same behind the curtain.

'Avatar' soundtrack, nice. :)

I really like the story! I'm actually writing one about the veil, too--didn't know it was so popular!--and anyway, it's not in yet. But I don't think it can top this one, very suspenseful and well done. Can't wait to read the end!

Author's Response: The veil is an interesting concept, isn't? I'm looking forward to reading your take on it. Thank you for reviewing! Peace, Virgil

A Marauder's Musings by Nymphie THE Original

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A collection of poems, written by their respective marauders. Poems about food, some not about food, others about girls, and still others about the trouble of the moons. All teenage problems, and others, are written here!

NOTE: I HAVE ADDED ANOTHER POEM TO POTTER'S PROSE!!! PLEASE CHECK IT OUT!!!

'In the wrapper or on the street...'

Oh yes, I can see that clearly. :) I laughed quite loudly at that, nice work! No hate mail from me I'm afraid.

Author's Response: Thanks so much!!!!

I like Peter's Poems more, I'm sorry! But these are great too, I love the excellent vocab use, with "surreal" and "Gubraithian": not words you hear every day... so I hope you continue that with Remus's (Ramblings? Writings? I don't know what alliteration you'll choose...).

I'm favorite-ing this!! :)

The Breaking Point by MerrryD

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
No one ever said that war was easy. And it’s not.

Especially not for Lily Evans, who’s become Hogwarts’ go-to girl for comfort. She’s never troubled or upset. She always knows all the things to say, when to hug, and when to just let the tears go. But, sometimes, the allusion of being in control is just too much.

And, apparently, she’s not the only one.

Lily/Regulus

Date: 06/15/10 Title: Chapter 1: The Breaking Point

Oh wow, that was really good. It was very sad, and thought-provoking, too. Not some crazy romantic-fling-style fic, but much deeper.

I've never even considered the idea of Lily and Regulus, but this was very well done. (I probably won't go buy a t-shirt emblazoned with R&L, but still....) Spectacular writing! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reviewing! This review made my day. :] --Mere

A Moment, A Love by jenny b

Rated: Professors • Past Featured Story
Summary:
A dream, aloud, a kiss, a cry …

Pregnant at seventeen. I was not that kind of girl. My final year at Hogwarts was supposed to be the best yet – filled with Quidditch matches, parties with my best friends and Outstandings in all my NEWTs. But now I was facing morning sickness, young mothers’ group and irate teachers, all whilst trying to hold my relationship with Lysander together.

What on earth was I going to do?

Actually, I like your song lyrics. :) They're like some indie wizarding band's obscure song lyrics that got caught up in mainstream pop. But I digress, I tend to over-think these things. The characters are really developing so well. I love the closeness of Lily and her friends, and how some of the characters you've mentioned in passing are related to ones from Harry's days.... (MacMillan, Wood, Greengrass; aw, now I feel all nostalgic!)

Haha, the PMS stuff was amusing... but likely I only find it so because I'm a girl.

Inter-house parties on the Quidditch Pitch? Genius.

I have nothing but praise for this chapter, and I eagerly await the third. :)

!!! (I couldn't think of an appropriate exclamation to start off with... but I think three exclamation points gets the point out there.)

You shouldn't have been nervous at all about posting this! At first, I didn't like the idea of Lily being a troublemaker, at all. Then, before the chapter was half over, I was in love with the idea. :) Interesting, uniting the Lovegood-Potter family--it makes a very unique relationship. (And it was a very nice touch mentioning Rose and Scorpius, too.)

Waiting for the next chapter!
