I'm an American college-student whose secret obsession is HP (of course). My username on the forums is KatieWood (who wants to guess my OTP?), but please call me Briel. Apparently I'm also a compulsive parentheses user. I don't consider myself a poet, but my only fan fics so far are poems.

Feelings for Ron by Gin_PotterGirl

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: On a starry night, Hermione finally expresses her feelings about Ron.

This is for just_the_Contrary's final assinment for poetry.

Wonderful poem! I really like the variance in line lengths. It creates a different, almost choppy rhythm that I feel reflects really well the way in which emotions often spill out of people suddenly. I also like how the last stanza differs from the rest and deals with Ron's emotions (even though from Hermione's perspective still). The one issue I have is that, as the first two stanzas deal with an emotion, I expected the third to do so as well. Although I do like this stanza, funny is not an emotion and seems a little out of place. However, overall I think this is amazing! You really seem to understand Hermione!

Fallen by StaceyLC

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: The deathly hallows of a man’s mind are a dark and dangerous place; a place which one can be easily lost if they walk the line between light and dark too carelessly. It’s easy to fall in, to lose yourself. You may think you’ve not strayed too deeply into that gaping maw of death and despair until you look back up from the hole and can no longer see the light. And then… then it is too late. You will be truly gone.

Wow! That was gorgeously written. I don't normally read dark/angsty, but I wanted to review one of your stories in return for the amazing banner you made me. And I must say that I actually might start reading it more now! I love how you chose to explore the potential for evil in all people, even our "hero". I also love the title you chose, how it is metaphorical, yet also slightly literal by the very end of your story. Congrats on the first place, you deserved it!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! :D And I\'m glad you liked the banner.

She Was Beautiful by social loner

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Draco relives his happiest, most painful memory of love and pain as he fights for his life. But what is worth living for when what you want, love, has left forever?

“Draco didn’t know what it was, whether it was the intoxicating appeal of forbidden fruit, or the way her hair blew in the breeze, with lovely brown tendrils that lay elegantly down her back. What he did know, was that she was beautiful.”

I’m Social Loner from Hufflepuff, and this is for the June one-shot challenge.

What an absolutely gorgeous story! I loved the flashback and repetition, very poetic. The ending was absolutely stunning as well. I like that you ended on a very strong and powerful image!

Great work!! I absolutely love your characterization of Lilly. She feels so natural, so believable, and likeable, which I think is infinitely important. She seems like a real girl, and I can see some bits of Harry in her already! I can't wait for chapter 1 to be validated so I can read on!

Author's Response: Thanks! It was my main goal to make Lily as \"real\" as possible. I see a lot of Fanfics that portray this perfect, good-girl type image of her, and I don\'t think that\'s how it was. Everyone has problems and feelings and emotions, even \"perfect\" people. I\'m really trying hard throughout the rest of the Fic to make Lily sound as real and human as possible. (In the next couple of chapters it\'s very evident!) Chapter 1 should be up soon, I actually have to talk to the Mods about that because it\'s been more than 10 days.
