Hi, my name is Allie.

I live in America, I do not have an amazing British accent, no matter how much I wish I did.

I like to write, but I mostly read.

I'll Pick You Up by MagEd

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: “Guilt brings people together. It’s a takes one to know one type thing.”

James Potter has always been a spoiled, arrogant, lazy show-off. When he enters his final year at Hogwarts School, he’s Head Boy . . . and he’s still a spoiled, arrogant, lazy, show-off. But because of that terrible summer, he’s also guilt-ridden.

Lily Evans has always been a self-righteous, impatient, temperamental know-it-all. When she begins her last year at Hogwarts, she’s Head Girl . . . and still a self-righteous, impatient, temperamental know-it-all. But the first night back — and the murder that takes the entire school by surprise — leave her guilt-ridden as well.

With the darkness that’s surrounding the Wizarding world slowly seeping, at long last, onto the grounds of Hogwarts and into the lives of James Potter and Lily Evans, what comes next?

Okay, I haven't reviewed in a while, but I'm not gone for good! I took a little hiatus. But I'm back, and apparently, so are you with a new story in the works.

Let me start off by saying that I was really intruiged by the first chapter. I didn't feel like I was forcing myself to read it because the rest of the story would somehow redeem it. So great job there.

I love the way you characterise, especially James and Irina. I could tell that James, although grieving, was a lively individual who was genuinely a good person. Irina seems like a timeless beauty, pillar, for him. I like how you shattered that illusion straight away.

I also really, really like the fact that James and Sirius smoke. It makes them more... well... human, in my opinion and fits the time period in which they were said to have lived.

Your story already seems realistic, also, because of the darker atmosphere. It's not all fun and games for James Potter now, is it?

So, with that said, I figured that I should leave a detailed review for you, since I've been quite lax recently. This is going on the favorites list so I can get updates!

Author's Response: I'm glad you're not gone for good! Thanks very much for the review! It's good to know that you liked the first chapter, as I was afraid it wouldn't be interesting enough to catch people's attention. And I agree that it's important for Sirius and James to stay realistic and do things like smoke! I'm glad you thought this start realistic and that you even put it in favorites -- that always makes me happy :)

I'm still here, promise. I've just been too busy to read, let alone review. I'll get straight to the point. I love how your transitions between the stages of James and Lily's relationship just flows so effortlessly- like they don't go from being enemies to falling in love in one chapter. That's what I wanted to touch on, after reading the past two chapters in one sitting. Update soon! -Allie

Author's Response: I'm glad you're still here! Sometimes RL gets in the way for me, too. Thanks for the review! I really hate it when James and Lily don't fall for one another realistically; its one of my pet peeves in the HP fanfiction universe, probably my biggest one. It's good to know you think I don't do that in my story!
