I'm a busy but proud mama of three wonderful children who love HP and wife to a non-HP fan. Have to work on him this year. Call it Goal '08.

Goal update: Hubby has now read all the books and watched the movies with me. We're thinking of re-reading #6 before the movie comes out! He's not die-hard yet, but he'll get there, I'm sure of it!

My elder daughter (needsomefelixfelicis) also frequents this site, and is my biggest fan, so you may come across her cryptic reviews for my stories.

Jumper by HalfASlug

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: All these years, Hermione has been waiting for this and there is only one person who really understands why.
Reviewer: cjbaggins Signed
Date: 06/02/13 Title: Chapter 1: one-shot

Another great friendship fic!

My favourite line was Harry's soft, "Hermione, she made yours first." So deceptively simple.

Great interweaving of the past and "present".

cj

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I guess that's Harry in a way. Not a bloke of many words but he gets it right when he does speak. Haha, I see what you did there. Christmas puns ftw!

The Baby in the Closet by Oregonian

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: As Harry and Ginny eagerly await the birth of their first child and their new lives as parents, Harry discovers that before he can move forward, he must take a journey into his past and revisit what has never been put to rest. He learns the truth of the poetic line "The child is father to the man."

This story has been nominated for a 2013 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Post-Hogwarts Story.

Love the idea that his mother's love may have protected him from the Dursley's too. Nice touch. cj

Author's Response: I am glad that you are continuing to like my story. As you can tell, it is important to me and I felt that it needed to be written.

Loved Pamela's comment, that Harry repeats to himself, "It is safe to talk ...".

cj

Author's Response: Thanks, and I loved that Harry had the guts to actually act on it.

Love that Harry is getting information that may be useful to him to help him move beyond his past.

Off to add this story to favourites so I will get notifications of updates ...

cj

Author's Response: He's just getting started...

Reviewer: cjbaggins Signed
Date: 11/11/12 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Infanticide

After having spent many hours here at Mugglenet fanfic perusing the many offerings, I thought I had had my fill of others' stories. I was pleasantly surprised, therefore, to find this one. It is an interesting premise, and as another reviewer has mentioned, very plausible in light of Harry's experiences as a child.

One tiny nit - as a baby does not take his or her first breath until *after* the sac of waters has broken, Harry's infant would not, in fact, have drowned, as its respiratory system would not have switched over yet, and would remain safely "breathing" amniotic fluid until the sac burst. However, I understand that it was Harry's dream, and he may be ignorant of such things. Besides, I realize that it is his fear that is important here, not the actual medical details

Off to read the next chapter ...

cj

Author's Response: Thank you for reading my story.

Wonderful ending! A fitting conclusion to this story, that while an uncomfortable topic, you have addressed with compassion and sensitivity. Well done! cj

Author's Response: Thank you for your kind remarks, cj. I'm very glad that you appreciated the story. I just got back from a professional conference today where the main topic was the latest research about the negative, lifelong effects of stress, abuse and neglect on babies and children, and I found myself throughout the conference thinking about this story and about the people in real life who have been thus affected. It is so true.

Cushions, Biscuits and Her by HalfASlug

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: As he enters a new chapter of his life, Ron ponders what exactly he has got himself into.
Reviewer: cjbaggins Signed
Date: 11/24/12 Title: Chapter 1: one-shot

I enjoyed this. Great characterization of both of them. I love how you`ve taken what we know of the two, and deepened that knowledge, taken us further into the lake, if you will. cj

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing :) I'm glad you enjoyed this. After everything they went through in their teens, I thought it'd be nice to give them something mundane to deal with.

Plum Cake by Ginny Weasley Potter

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: While the trio is camping after escaping the Ministry, Ron decides to do something special for Hermione on her birthday.

This is Ginny Weasley Potter of Hufflepuff house, writing for the 2013 Great Hall Cotillion.

(Rated high for the profanity)

Sweet story. I was rooting for Ron for Hermione to kiss him as well. However, this is better as it allows the kiss in DH to remain as *the* one. Well done. cj

Author's Response: Hahaha, if they'd kissed now, there'd be no fun in the RoR kiss :p . I'm pleased that you enjoyed the story, though. :) Thanks for reading! :)

Concerns by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Hermione is pregnant, Ron is an idiot...
Reviewer: cjbaggins Signed
Date: 12/27/13 Title: Chapter 1: Concerns

Good, "day-in-the-life" type one-shot. Glad Hermione was okay in the end.

cj

Author's Response: Thanks, this is the third of three "day-in-the-life" one shots, the others are Conceptions and Conversations. -N-

Taboos by William Brennan

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: After the war, the Auror Office decides to Taboo the Unforgivable Curses so that any use of them can be detected. This doesn't quite go as planned however...

Hilarious! Thanks for a good laugh.

Feelings And What Not To Do With Them by HalfASlug

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Being poisoned has its advantages - Hermione is talking to Ron again. Unfortunately so is Lavender. Ron hopes to sort this out once and for all if only he could work out how.
Reviewer: cjbaggins Signed
Date: 05/31/13 Title: Chapter 1: one-shot

I love it!

As much as I love the HP books, I wish sometimes that they were not completely from Harry's point of view.

It was pleasant to read something from Ron's point of view that was believable, so very awkward for him, yet lovely at the same time.

cj

Author's Response: Thank you for the review! Yes, it would have been cool to have other people's view on things but I guess that leaves a lot of fanfic to write. Glad you enjoyed this :)

Last Moments by LittleGinny

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Less than a year since the Battle of Hogwarts, the Order of the Phoenix is still hunting down the last of the Death Eaters. Harry, Ron and Hermione are involved in these captures, of course. Ginny is also a part of the team, having convinced Harry that she can protect herself. It is just a routine raid to capture a group of undercover Death Eater and the numbers are even. But what if something goes wrong?

**Very short one-shot**

**Follows Book 7 cannon but disregards epilogue**

I enjoyed this story, a little sad though it is. Well-written pathos is always appreciated, in my book.

I agree with many things the previous reviewer had to say - mainly about your timing, the action, and the hints as to Ginny's comforter's true identity.

I look forward to reading more of your work.

New Year's Eve (or: Amour Tension) by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: New Year's Eve, (or Hogmanay if you prefer). What sort of imbecile thinks it's a good idea to give a married man with two kids, and a very pregnant wife, a love potion? It should be a time to celebrate. For "the best dad in the world" and his wife, it's time for chocolate biscuits, cocktails, an Auror in a leopard print dress, Dung and Coco.

I enjoyed that! I haven't visited this site in a while; I'm glad I decided to as I was able to discover this gem.

I agree with another reviewer about a good idea to have a person be able to resist Amortentia if they have found true love.

Off to see if you have any other stories posted here...

cj

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm glad that my thoughts on Amortentia have been well received. Other stories? Only 70+. This is a sequel to Beard Hunters, and is one of many Potter family stories. They start with First Sight. But all of my stories are linked, so you can read more Mark/Lavender, too. If you want to. -N-
