My Troubled Tyrant by Belledeg

Summary: Keedie Dante has experienced many amazing things during her time at Hogwarts, including the hushed up drama that was the Chamber of Secrets. However, with two overachieving friends and a headmaster who does not even know she exists, Keedie feels that perhaps her seventh year will not be too spectacular. However, Dumbeldore sees her potential as a writer and enrols her in a simple writing course. Here, she meets the mysterious and terrifying Tom Riddle and they instantly get under one another's skin. She is drawn to his dark determination towards some unknown goal and he is fascinated by her, in every way. However, Tom's friends do not approve of Keedie and her unconventional ways and Keedie has many people trying to keep her away from the dark young man as well. Something inside tells Keedie that she can make him better, but even he assures her that this is an impossible task. But she's not one to give up easily...

Nooooooooooo! I hate the new excerpt!
Okay, I was lying when I said I came to terms with it, I'm still reeling and it's been 8 hours since I read the chapter!
Keedie was one of my favourite characters. Infact, this is worse than Sirius, worse than Dumbledore.
Now I undertand the excerpt where Ebony and Tom have a conversation and the tone is very melancholy.
By the way, it's not a cliffy anymore, is it? Now that we know she dies :(
Okay, brace youself:
IMPERIO!
You will go back to 'Bring Me To Life'. You will remove the last paragraph. You will rewrite the next two chapters so that Keedie never died. Do you understand?
Well, it was worth a shot wasn't it?
Author's Response: Hey, don't hate the excerpts. J.K wrote him that way, not me. Anyways, those last couple of paragraphs were written before the first chapter even got added. :) No one loved Keedie or Tom when I wrote them...

At least Voldemort will be reunited with Keedie when he dies! And they'll be together in the King's Cross place and live happily ever after!!! (okay, too optimistic, lol)

I'm sitll at a loss at Keedie's role at the Battle of Hogwarts, will she be on Harry's side, Tom's, neutral? and lol at the 'you are not her' part'!

Ok. Somebody messed up the review page. I think if they just delete that one review, it might sort things out.
Anyways, could you put up an excerpt of a Harry-Keedie conversation if there is one? Because I'm really interested in how such a conversation would go.
Hey, what if Aaron Dante's still alive during the Battle, a Death Eater tries to kill Keedie and he says 'Not my daughter, you *****! and shoots the killing curse at him! That would be pretty funny. (and then Molly would go over to him and accuse him of plaigiarism!)
Author's Response: Hah! I was thinking about that actually. Aaron would probs still be alive. As for Harry and Keedie, they don't actually speak because then it would go against canon. Sorry! I'd love to write that, but JK didn't so...:(

Love the new excerpt! So Keedie never told Tom about their daughter! What if their daughter is present at the battle?!!
Could it be someone we know?
And I found the 'Don't you side with Potter' really funny!'
One more thing. If you don't mind, could you not give any more excerpts from The Epilogue because then the whole thing will be given away and we won't really have that much to look forward to...Who am I kidding, I love the excerpts, keep them coming!
Author's Response: Believe me, most of the epilogue can't be put up and hasn't been put up, as it gives away too much. :-)

Okay. I'm confused. You said Keedie and Harry didn't speak. And yet...unless it's Ebony or Melena in the excerpt.
Author's Response: I went away and thought about it and, since another scene was regretably deleted from the epilogue, found a way to make them speak and for it to be plausible. So that is Keedie and Harry. :-)

We're even now...actually, I'm one ahead but you'll catch up in your next review. Seroisly! I choose to spell that way, I choose to be different! Kidding, thanks for pointing out the spelling mistakes like any obsessive perfectionist would do!
As for the reviews, lets make a deal, a review each till the end, hows that sound?
As long as I get the magic (no pun intended) 200th review! What would really suck would be if some other person got it! In that case, I would probably delete one of my previous reviews to get it!
Alas, no more Belledeg to answer our reviews, I guess we'll just have to address them to each other.

When I wrote that 'third review to bug Hayden', it was 2 a.m in the night, I had just come back from the airport a couple of hours before that, I was practically asleep, hence the mistakes. The question to ponder about is why I was on this site reviewing away! The answer: This is one AWESOME fic.

How do you come up with such awesome chapters???!!! I seriously felt like I did while reading The Prince's Tale from DH; every memory made me gasp and yearn for the next!
The circumstances of Iris' death explain alot.
'No children to speak of. I see a possible carrying, but no child.'
So I guess one of my assumptions was correct.
By the way, JKR would probably be pretty upset if she came across this story, you've torn apart her 10 year effort of making Voldemort seem so evil becuase I can't picture him like that anymore! I can empathize and sympathize with him like anything which I could never do before (except during HP6 when he grows up without his mother's love)
What else, what else? Oh yeah, your characterization of Dumbledore at the funeral was perfect; that's exactly the way he reacts when people shout and yell at him!
Another interesting thing is how both Keedie and Tom blame their mothers. Keedie blames Iris for never giving her the love she deserved, and Riddle blames his mother for dying and not choosing to live for him.
I'm just going to read the new excerpt I glanced at before starting Chapter 23 and so you'll have another review to answer!

Love the new excerpt! He told her with no qualms whatsoever! He talked about 'evil' acts like they were no big deal, he's transitioning...
By the way, where's Ebony disappeared to? Haven't heard of her in a while, she was also supposed to be quite a good friend of Keedie's.
Could you write another 10 chapters? Please?!
Just 'Keed'ing, I know how difficult it is to add new stuff when you have a complete story written out.

Whew! Finally finished my DH reread. Which, of course, will give me time to start my reread of My Troubled Tyrant.
But I hate Voldemort so much right now! Keedie did keep flashing into my head every once in a while, but I still couldn't feel for Voldy! I mean, not after Mad-Eye, Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, Colin, Lupin, Tonks, Snape! I could kill him right now! (If he weren't already dead!)
Guess it'll have to be a continuous cycle of DH and MTT where I'll hate him and then like him and hate him and then like him...;)
Okay. Enough of the babbling. What I wanted to say was that I noticed this line in the chapter King's Cross.
'...and, as for the stone, whom would he want to bring back from the dead? He fears the dead. He does not love.'
I thought it would be inconsistent with MTT since Dumbledore knew about Keedie. But of course, he could be lying and hiding her from Harry like he promised Riddle.
Don't be mad, just a thought that came into my head while reading this chapter!
And now for the best part: THIS IS MY 100TH REVIEW!!! A feat, I believe, it shall be impossible to replicate elsewhere unless MFF or FHV end up as good! Those many reviews are a testament to the quality of this story and how much enjoyment it's given me. Thanks once again!
And now, I better start my reread so I can start liking Tom again!
Author's Response: I'm glad you brought up the King's Cross moment. It shall be explained, but there was no room for it in the first epilogue without it slowing down the pace. 100 reviews, very impressive. I salute you! :D

Oh, so you have the Hepzibah Smith scene here as well? Do you show the actual killing (JKR doesn't)?
And what would Keedie do if she found out?
Author's Response: Throw a fit probably. I've not got the killing scene written out and the scene in the summary is a visit before the one in HBP. All will make sense later....

You're KILLING us with the excerpts! It keeps looking like the story is going to get better and better as we near the ending.
So Dumbledore tells Snape everything?
Where does Keedie come from during the battle because from the sound of their conversation, it looks like she's been lying low these past few years.
I can't imagine what the twist is going to be though I do know it's probably going to be amazing.
And of course, we're getting closer to that 300 mark. I think there's a slight possibility that we hit 500 but for that, everyone will really have to make an effort.
Author's Response: Ha! True. Well, the next two chapters have two of the worst cliffhangers yet, so that ought to straighten out the numbers. ;)

Oh yeah! I was wondering what Keedie would have felt when Voldemort was supposedly vanquished ('codswallop in my opinion' says Hagrid) by the boy who lived. She probably hates Harry's guts!
Author's Response: I think Keeds and Hazza might get on. Until he found out who she´d been going out with. That issue is not covered, funnily enough. You´ll find out way. By the by, I hope you and Hayden have been behaving yourselves!

I went through a marathon re-reading of all the reviews (and the author replies!) to garner some more clues as to what happens in the next few chapters. One of the readers compared Keedie's eyes to Lily's and you said 'And the green eyes are important.'
I'm guessing Voldemort sees Lily's eyes when he goes to kill her (and is reminded of Keeds) and maybe that's why he gives her a chance to live!
I just realized that I never really thought about what Keedie would do during the time Voldemort was bodiless.
Would she want to see for herself the baby who was great enough to defeat a great wizard like Tom? Maybe she'd go around to Mrs Figg's house and have a chat with the child-Harry during one og his many unpleasant visits there!
And a final thing: you said in many of your responses that you were tricking us and might throw us. I'm thinking....have you seen The Illusionist? Because I'm guessing more and more that this fic is going to end in a similar way!
Author's Response: Maybe Keedie was in the Leaky Cualdron when Harry meets Quirrell and she thinks, "so that's the little tyke who destroyed my troubled tyrant?" We'll have to wait and see. P.S I've not seen the illusionist....sorry! :(

Hey, will you make Riddle (Stop calling me that shouts Voldemort!!!) fly without a broom like DH? Because that was seriously one of my favourite parts from the book, the way he flies to Nurmengard and confronts Grindelwald (wonder how that'll look in the movie!)
Author's Response: Yeah! Basically, Tom and Keedie go flying around London to get away from Greg and Melena. Next chapter should be up tomorrow or very soon! :-)
