HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
You're of age now...in the wizarding world. You'll have to wait for another year in the real world, lol.
I'm just that good, aren't I??!!! I make utterly ridiculous comments because I don't know what else to write and I end up being close to the mark!
Author's Response: So true. 17 such a horrible in between stage. Anyhoo, I'm waiting for the mods to approve and then the next chapters should be up. :D
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! HER VOICE IS BACK!!!!!! And awesome first words too!!!
Awesome chapter!
I really liked Harper's meeting with Molly and how they both lost brothers in the two wars. I guess Molly herself probably got some fame, being the one to finish off Voldy's no 1 leuitenant.
Why doesn't Jimmy Peakes just go away?! I don't hate him that much any more. Just reread DH and he was trying to stay back and fight despite being underage so his heart's in the right place, I guess. But he's still so annoying!
Trust Ginny to give Harper a night-dress like that!
Leonard Wilkes makes Filch look like Dumbledore, and that's saying something! (I would have said 'angel' but why not Potterize everything?!)
I'm so glad her voice is finally back. It was a long time coming and I guess all that anguish and frustration was building up and she was finally able to break through. I really can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Jimmy's nowhere near as bad as Greg, I'll tell you that now. :)
Wow! That was quick! Chapter 11's up as well! It look like my wish was granted! Off to read it.
Author's Response: Yeah! I had no idea the next chapter would get accepted so fast! :D
'It seemed that now Harper had her voice back, everyone else had lost theirs.' Brilliant line!
‘Hmm…this house used to be so quiet' Ha! Typical Blaise!
And Bilbo is so funny! 'About time'!
I hope we see Mrs. Zabini in the next chapter, now that Blaise and Red (OOPS) know where they stand with each other.
I'm sure, like Ginny or Harry was (I forget), that Wilkes will have backup. I mean, he's a Squib, he'll need help. Probably get somebody and promise them a split of the money. Monetary gain seems an excellent reason for him to be after her.
Can't wait for the next.
Author's Response: Isabella will show up soon enough! Hopefully Leo's build-up is working! :)
Just remembered. This took place in the previous chapter, but what the heck!
Does Harper know she just played matchmaker with Teddy and Victoire...and that it worked?!
Author's Response: Probably not, but it's cute, no? :)
Yay! It was great seeing Isabella again! And yay for me correctly guessing it might be Draco.
Speaking of which, I really enjoyed their conversation. That's exactly how a redeemed Draco would be. Harper did a good job in making him feel guilty about the mudblood thing.
Bilbo coming nearing the end followed by the disillusionment charm and Blaise was hilarious!
By the way, how far off is Percy's wedding? Another couple of weeks? I'm sure Blaise will find her there.
Author's Response: I'm so glad Isabella's gone down well. Yep, it was Draco and the wedding's not too far away. Blaise may even find her before. :D
Amazing! I really enjoyed seeing Keedie again! Dumbledore and Snape were exciting additions too.
Harper probably didn't know about Snape being good because she was on the run, right? Because I'm sure the rest of the Wizarding World would have known.
I was shocked when I found out Wilkes is a wizard. The fact that his brother was a death eater makes me all the more concerned for Harper.
Back to Keedie. She was perfect. That's exactly how a 16-year old portrait of hers would talk. Giggle and smile a little, then remember Tom and become serious!
Author's Response: I miss Keedie! I really do. Speaking of which, the 2nd epilogue is almost done ;-)
Noooo! You're right, something has to go wrong just about this point. Is that Leonard Wilkes?
'I’ve heard she’s worried about her disappearing youth.’
Luna always cracks me up with her bizarre ideas! She's an excellent tool for humour, glad you used her!
I liked the party at the Potters. Blaise's akwardness at being there was funny and so was the silent 'knowing' exchange between Hermione and Ginny.
Oh, and there those green eyes come again! I think you mentioned somewhere on MTT that you had green eyes yourself? Maybe that's why your main characters seem to do too. (that last sentence is kind of awkward.)
Author's Response: I always have trouble remembering eye colour. Hense why Tom's were never mentioned. I love Luna and the vision of a sulky Slytherin amongst happy Gryffindors always makes me chuckle. :D
That scene where he called her a muggle-born reminded me of the Snape-Lily incident! Only, Blaise was quick in apologizing!
I mentioned this in a previous review but obviously you wrote this before. If Isabella was never really married to Blaise's father, she wouldn't be a Zabini, would she? Unless she decided to keep it just for the heck of it. Or Blaise's last name is after hers.
And trust that filthy squib to interrupt at such a moment (woah, pureblood moment there).
Knowing you, we have to have a 'Greg' in this fic and so it's either Wilkes or Dennis.
I'm really enjoying reading this!
Author's Response: I think she took his name for reputation sake. I've not really thought about it, TBH. I'll look into it. And we do have a Greg character....;)
Haha! First time I've seen a triple post on an author's response!
Author's Response: LOL, I know! :D
Finally! Just hope things don't go wrong, but knowing you, they will!
You know who my favourite character in this fic is, now? Someone who was barely mentioned in the HP books. Seriously, Isabella is such a perfect character, it's pure pleasure reading her.
Author's Response: Of course things will go wrong! I love Isabella, even though she never even spoke in the HP books! Keep up the reviews :D
Seriously, Aras took the words out of my mouth when describing Mrs. Zabini! I swear I didn't read the other reviews before posting this! It seems like everyone is warming up-rather, has warmed up to her already!
Author's Response: Don't worry, she's a frequent character. She'll be in this story quite a bit. :D
OMG! I hadn't really paid attention to the last part of the last line when I first read this chapter.
'...crossing her fingers...'
She's going to go looking for trouble, I just know it. Why do things have to go wrong?! They haven't already but knowing your style after MTT...
Author's Response: Because, if everything was all hunky-dory, it would get a bit dull. :)
‘It might be handy to learn to drive,’ thought Ron out loud. Haha, he had his driver's test in the DH Epilogue!
I share Harper's confusion but I guess the next chapter will clear that up.
Author's Response: Gotta love Ron. :D
Gosh, I hate when that happens, accidentally hit Submit on an incomplete review. At least it gives me an excuse to leave another one ;)
So, as I was saying before my premature clicking of the button rudely interrupted, I really don't like Jimmy Peakes. I guess he's not as bad as Greg but he's still annoying the hell out of me. The idiot, mentioning Fred like that!
By the way, considering Harper was a Gryffindor and Hermione was a prefect, I would have thought she would have known Harper. But I guess she didn't.
Off to read the next one.
Author's Response: Well, Greg started off okay if we remember. And look where that went. Jimmy Peakes is actually canon though. And Harper's like three or four years younger than Hermione and the gang. I think she'll have slipped into the wallpaper, what with all their other problems. :D
Phew! When you said Blaise had discovered an old forgotten love, I was a bit afraid it was somebody else which would make Harper jealous. I'm glad it's just the piano ;)
I'm glad you introduced the memory, kind of like MTT, back-story is essential.
The best thing about this fic is that you don't have to stick within a narrow (can't find the word I'm looking for) something like MTT. There, you had to keep in mind the ending, the Battle of Hogwarts etc. Here, you can do whatever you like, you're not restricted. Except of course, Ginny and Harry have to name their first child James, lol.
I guess the Ted/Andromeda fic is the only one I'll be with from the beginning, not having to do this marathon of reviewing!
Author's Response: I love marathon reviewing. And yeah, it's nice not to have to know that your two mains have to die. ;-)
And I think I just might know whose painting that is!!!
So there we go again. The main characters always have to have accidents, don't they?!
Another really enjoyable chapter. I loved the part where Harper speaks without thinking and says 'she was your sister' etc. I felt it was a powerful scene, very akward too. I'm glad Andromeda's an important character in this fic. It's like all three of your fics are inter-related (though independent of each other).
WHY IS JIMMY SO ANNOYING???
Maybe the muggle who hit her was Dudley (or Vernon), that would be pretty funny.
Can't wait for the next one.
Author's Response: Next chapter soon. And I kind of like having all my stories linked together in some way. Speaking of which, the painting should have some interesting things to say. :D
Haha! A 'voice' seems to be a pivotal aspect of your fics! Maybe MFF should have one too.
At least there's no obsession with it this time though!
You're right, you do have to mix up things to prevent the fic from becoming predictable.
Like I said before, there are so many possibilities with where this fic can go as you're not restricted by the HP books.
By the way, have you written the whole thing already?
Author's Response: I'm in the middle of writing the finale (oh, yes, there's a finale) so I'm very nearly done. :o)
You can't do this to us again!!!! Urgh! Experience tells me I should be real scared for Harper right now!
Nice chapter overall. Isabella was magic as usual!
I didn't want a mental '***kicking', lol, I wish Blaise had really beaten the **** out of him!
By the way, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Author's Response: Merry Xmas. Harper is not going the same way as Keeds, never fear
‘You don’t want her being happy with another man, though,’ pointed out Isabella, unhelpfully.
Lines like these just make Isabella so fun to read!
Why can't Blaise just put security spells around his house to protect Harper?
It's a good thing Blaise didn't see the kiss, I can't imagine what he would have done!
It'll be nice having Bilbo check on her every once in a while, I enjoyed Harper-Bilbo exchanges!
I have a bad feeling about the wedding though...
Author's Response: Mmm...the wedding is interesting. I love Isabella and Bilbo a lot, so they won't be gone long :D
