Congratulations on a great story! I truly enjoyed it and I look forward to your next installment. I hope Alex finds a way to overcome her 7-year curse.

Author's Response: Thank you. As for her curse, you can certainly bet she'll try!

And Alexandra died. The end.

... Yeah, I think not. :) At the same time, I highly doubt she's going to be able to actually bring Max back. So I'm very curious to see how all this will be resolved. I have a feeling that nothing short of seeing Max's spirit, and having him tell her himself to quit trying to revive him, will make her stop.

I like the use of blood in these deathly rituals; it brings to mind ancient Greek mythology. I imagine it may be associated with other cultures' myths too.

Very interesting. I have an idea who might have stunned her...

Great chapter. I liked your description of Death's abode, and the Seventh Seal reference -- one of my favorite movies. I have to say, I don't believe Death really means to return Maximilian to life if Alex kills someone. If Death made deals that easily, there would have been stories about it being done before. So I'm not sure what he's up to. And Darla...what the heck? I guess we'll find out...

That was sweet...Alexandra has a lot of people in her life she can talk to and rely on, but she doesn't seem to realize that, or want to take advantage of it. Too bad. I'm curious whether she has abandoned the idea of time travel entirely now, and if so, what she might turn to next. The Resurrection Stone is what she really needs...

Wow, intense! I still don't understand Darla's motivation but I imagine we will learn that soon. I'm glad Alexandra didn't agree to just sacrifice Darla, though if I were in that situation I probably would have thought a bit harder about it. As for the Generous Ones -- are they inspired by some mythology, or something you purely invented? Either way, they're very interesting creatures. Great chapter.
