April Rain by Kimberley

Rated: Professors •
Summary: ***COMPLETED!***Five years ago, half way through her third year at Hogwarts, Regan Jayden was expelled for reasons only she and a very select few know. But now that she's been allowed to return-- under certain terms-- in what would have been her graduating year, will she be able to regain the trust of her fellow Hogwarts students, and of herself?

Excerpt from story: Merlin, he was going soft, Draco thought as he tried not to grimace. He'd start spouting off poetry in a minute if he wasn't careful. This whole love thing was sending him round the twist.

Thats what i like to see, a happy ending, however unbelievable it may seem. What happens to Regans power now, did she use it all up saving Draco, or will someone train her to use it?

Wow, what an ending! I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that I love Dumbledore, he knows the rules inside, out, back to front and sideways and always manages to find a loophole. Regan's dad is hilarious, and I'm glad he's accepted Draco. It's brilliant that Regan's going to get training for her powers, she'll be able to use it for so much when she's through. I'll miss Regan, she's been a lovely character to adventure with.

I love Ron in this fic, he's so funny egging Regan on. Regan to me is like a female Sirius Black, well, a female teenaged Sirius Black. Draco didn't seem quite right in this chapter, being so high and mighty as he is, I find it impossible to believe that he'd even leave his dorm without at least a bath robe, if not full dress. Love this fic!

I love Regan's animagus form, it really suits her. And the way she just walked through the school in a towel, you've got to admire her. This chapter was more like the Draco we know and er... . And the snow wolf sounds beautiful and etherial in a way. Harry's personality as Quidditch Captain is very like Oliver Wood's, do you think he realises? it'd be funny if someone pointed it out to him.

This chapter was excellent! I'm really glad Harry stuck up for Regan against those girls, I hate gossipers, don't they ever think how they'd feel if it were about them? And Prof McGonagall is brilliant, the last bit about her love interst loving himself more was so funny, although in retrospect it probably wasn't as funny to her at the time.

Tierney sounds like a really fun person, too cool to be a brother. I have three brothers and none of them are anything like that, not with me at any rate. I sometimes wish our relationships were like the one described in this chapter. Vera's great, a little extraordinary, but I'd say thats a good thing. I'm now worrying that Voldemort and the death eaters will discover Regan's unusual talents and try to use her to their advantage in some way. Hope she and Draco work things out. I love this fic.

I'm so glad you wrote this chapter, Regan and Draco made up, made love even and it was very tastefully handled at that. Oh dear, Narcissa Malfoy does tend to get murdered alot in fics, doesn't have much luck does she? I guess her departure breaks all ties Draco has with is family and they can't hold her safety over him as leverage, but then theres Regan to consider. I'find these talks between Voldemort and the death eaters very disturbing in that they convey nothing of what they're actually planning, besides the fact that Narcissa is dead, a fact of which we were already aware. I can only hope that Draco's going to Regan wasn't planned, with his cooperation, or even with his being imperiused or impersonated.

I loved the doorbell idea, and Regan's father is funny in a detached sort of way. I think he's full of emotions underneath, but for some reason maintains a no nonsense all buisness exterior. The hawk clipping Draco was cool too, especially since he didn't realise who it was. I always feel sorry for house elves, wouldn't you rather be woken up by a distant vacuum than somebody bursting into your room? I wonder what sort of animagus Regan's brother is, I bet it's great to be an animagus, especially something so different to yourself, like a bird or even a hippogriffe, flying without a broom, and if you were an owl you could deliver your own post. Thats another thing, why do they need to use owls, couldn't they invent a transfer spell or something? Sorry I'm off topic.

The crystal rose was a lovely idea and Hermione's berating Ron for his lack of romance was hilarious. Regan had a very good point when it came to Draco's acceptance of help, perhaps he only refuses when it comes to money, something he's been taught really matters. Something odd's going on with Regan's father, he seems to be trying to show her he cares as he's never done before but has difficulty knowing how, At least she understands him though. I'm hoping she learns to use her power soon, it might make her feel more complete and at ease.

Regan is reminding me a little of Monica from friends in this chapter, perhaps she'd make a good Regan, well, a few years ago. Hermione's brilliant, I knew she'd make a perfect head girl, the best bit was when they asked what the ice was for and Hermione replied 'her face' before promptly slapping Regan. Comic timing is perfect in this fic.

I'm going to give myself ten minutes before i read on, I need to calm down, I'm in tears over this chapter. I really like this fic, you've written the characters really well and they all have distinct personalities and leap from the words. I can't list how many emotions i've felt while reading and I'm barely into the story.

Considering how easy it was for Voldemort to kill the Potters, it was quite obvious he was going easy on them, still don't know why though. I knew it was him the minute you mentioned red eyes in your description of the shop owner. I'm guessing he does want Lily for something, however as she is a muggle born I can't fathom why. If Snape was the one in Dumbledores office that Remus overheard, then Voldemort must already know of the prophecy, but the timing isn't right for that, unless you've arranged it differently. I'll just have to read on and find out.

I found this chapter so depressing. Don't get me wrong, it was so well written and probably exactly how they'd all act, I just find it so disheartening when friendships breakdown. I despise Pettigrew, what a git! It's not only that he's turned traitor, it's the way he's done it, setting them all against one another, making them suspect anyone but him. OOO I'd love to hex him into oblivian! And Remus knows, but can't prove it to anyone or he'll give away the marauder secret. Perhaps he should've told Dumbledore about the animagi, at least it might have proven Peter guilty, and saved Lily and James lives so Harry didn't end up with the Dursley's. Sorry, getting carried away.

Poor Remus, I can hear him sobbing, your descriptions are too good. Can't somebody shut that place down? And sending Lily and Dorcas in to that Vampire shop! Is Dumbledore mental? Surely there are other ways. Sirius must know now that Remus is innocent, so why haven't they guessed at Pettigrew's being the traitor?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I HATE PETTIGREW!!!!!!!!! That last paragraph with the three Potters standing together watching the sky was so bitter sweet, and they only have thirty days left together. I hope they're happy ones.

I feel that James was perhaps a little reckless for insisting Sirius to be secret keeper and their readily agre4eing to a switch for Pettigrew was unwise as they had no proof of who the spy was. I guess you can tell i don't trust people. Also, I feel so sorry for Remus here, Sirius only devised the dupe because he thought Remus was the spy, couldn't he have gotten a secret keeper too? And Sirius is going to feel wretched when he finds out about Pettigrew, it's all so tragic. Brilliantly written.

If only Remus or Dumbledore or anyone had gone to see Sirius in Azkaban, even just to see him where they thought he belonged, they could have learned the truth and Sirius could've been freed. I know, I always want everyone to be happy, except the bad guys of course. Anyway, this was an excellent fic and there were quite a few original ideas that fit in so well with JKR's books. I particularly liked Sirius pretending to be a Vampire, very amusing he was. Keep writing.

Oh no! You've left me hanging! I'm glad Jillian is free, for now at least. I know Peter can't be who they think he is because of that family history book, but I do think he's a good guy. Killicus sounds nutters! Oh, and I really loved that line about how she missed everyone, even Snape, oh how low can ones spirits sink? Anyway, thanks for the fic and can't wait for the ending.

What an excellent story, and it could have been put into the HP POA book because it happened after everything else. From now on I can pretend it was part of the book. Wouldn't it have been funny if Ron had remembered Myrtle being his mother? It'd probably give him nightmares, or maybe he'd feel more sorry for her. I love time travel stories, thanks. Keep Writing.
