I'm a teenaged Harry Potter-obsessed United States resident. I absolutely love all things Potter, so a few years ago, I decided to try my hand at fan fiction. I've really enjoyed my time on this fantastic site; people have been so helpful, friendly and constructive. This is probably the best-run, least negative Internet community I've ever stumbled upon. There are writers who are doing absolutely amazing work on this site, and I know that my experiences here have helped me grow as a writer.

Some of the info below is a little out-of-date (I've fallen out of love with The Office and fallen head-over-heels for Supernatural, for example), but I'm leaving it as is anyway.

My Favorite HP Books (in order!) are: DH, OotP, GoF, HBP, CoS, SS/PS, PoA

I have always "shipped" Hermione/Ron and Harry/Ginny. I thought Luna/Neville might happen, but that never did! (Hannah Abbott?)

My Favorite Characters are Harry, Ron, Hermione, Snape, Dumbledore, Voldemort and Neville! (And just about all the others, too!)

My Favorite Non-HP Books are: Gone With the Wind (hence the penname), Little Women, Great Expectations, Les Miserables, the Artemis Fowl series, the Twilight series, the Inheritance Cycle, The Stand and The Mists of Avalon, among others!

My Favorite Movies are: Gone With the Wind (obviously), all the HP movies (didn't love PoA, though), The Lord of the Rings and Shanghai Knights, which is a wildly underrated and extremely funny movie

I also love the shows Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Lost, Friends, Seinfeld, 24 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also Alias. Also Angel. Also The Office. And Firefly. I watch too much TV!

I also have extremely varied tastes in music. Right now, I have Nickleback, Sheryl Crow, the Fray, Celine Dion, Guns 'n' Roses, Madonna, ABBA, AC/DC, Kid Rock, Shania Twain, Sarah MacLachlan, Three Doors Down and assorted songs from various musicals on my MP3 player. Not that any of you care, but just in case you take music recommendations from random people on the Internet. . . . . .

My Favorite FanFic is the Neville Longbottom series by Sonorus. If you haven't read it yet you should check it out! I also enjoy The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg the Impaler!

I am now on the MNFF Beta Boards, still under the name OHara and I've been sorted into Gryffindor, which is AWESOME!

So far, my stories are:

Albus Potter and the Flamel File
This is the first in a series of seven stories about Albus and it's going pretty well so far. Please check it out if you like Next-Gen stories. Or just want to. Unfinished

Click here Albus Potter and the Flamel File: to see the gorgeous banner that Russia Snow made for my story!

The Double
This is a medium-length story about Draco Malfoy. It's got action, romance and mystery, so it should appeal to a lot of people. Unfinished

Click here The Double: to see the amazing banner that James Jameson made for my story!

The Crumple-Horned Snorkack
A short one-shot about Luna's trip to Sweden six months after the Battle of Hogwarts. It's my personal favorite (so far) of my fan fiction stories. Finished

Click here The Crumple-Horned Snorkack: to see the beautiful banner that James Jameson made for the story!

Whatever Possessed You
Another short one-shot about Quirrell's initial meeting with, and possession by, Voldemort. Would love to get some feedback on this! Finished

Click here Whatever Possessed You: to see the lovely banner that James Jameson created for the story!

How Voldemort Got His Groove Back
This is my first humor fiction. I've got a pretty odd sense of humor and I don't what you'll all think of it, but please let me know! Unfinished

A Perfect Fit
This is my first romance story; it's not a genre I'm wild about, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out and I've gotten a really positive response. Finished

Click here: A Perfect Fit: to see the wonderful banner James Jameson made for my story!

(I Won't) Rest in Peace
I am a big, big Buffy fan and I have a particular penchant for Spike and "Once More, With Feeling" (the Season Six musical episode for you uninitiated), so how could I resist a "Rest in Peace" musical parody? I'm not really a poet, but I hope it's entertaining. Finished

A Piece of the Past
This story was written for the Lofty Learning One-Shot Challenge: The Science of Portraiture. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Even though I didn't place in the contest, it was still a lot of fun! Finished

Click here: A Piece of the Past:> to see the extremely cool banner that James Jameson made for my story!

Humbug
I wrote this Christmas one-shot for the Christmas Contest on the Black Lake in the forums. I didn't get my story read, but I like it and I hope everyone else does too. Finished

The Amulet of Imhotep
I wrote this story for the Gauntlet Round 8 and it came in third place! Big thank-you to my guide, NikkiSue, who was just great. I'd love to get a review on this story! Finished

I haven't been active on this site for a long time now, probably more than a year. Real life gets busier and more complicated when you grow up (who'd have thought?) and I find myself with little time for fan fiction. I have actually had some original fiction published in print, which was hugely exciting. Writing is the only thing I love to do as much as reading, and I know that it's the career I want to pursue. My time on MuggleNet was hugely helpful and influential, and I want to thank everyone who has helped or encouraged me.

Unfortunately, my chaptered stories are likely to remain unfinished. It's probably been too long for me to get back to them (I know that I have outlines stashed away somewhere, but they're unlikely to resurface) and I lack the time and energy to piece them back together. If that's a disappointment, I'm truly sorry.

I probably won't write anything else for the site, with the possible exception of contest or Gauntlet entries. I have a lot of other things to focus on right now. Of course, you never know, and if the fan fiction fever overtakes me again, I'll be sure to update this page. Until then, enjoy the stories I've written!

Thanks for reading!

Neville Longbottom and the Chamber of Secrets by Sonorus

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A message, written in what appeared to be a large quantity of blood, was daubed across the wall. In dripping bright red letters Neville read “THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS IS NOW OPEN. FLEE, MUDBLOODS, OR DIE.”

In the first sequel to Neville Longbottom and the Philosopher's Stone (prior reading recommended), Neville, the Boy-Who-Lived, enters his second year at Hogwarts, and confronts prejudice and discrimination in the wizarding world and an ancient threat to Hogwarts itself.

How will Neville face these challenges and what new secrets will be discovered? Welcome to Year 2...

Hi! I've been reading your Neville Longbottom series for a while now and I think it's the best fic on the site! This is an excellent chapter; you have a good writing style and you really get inside Neville's head. I'm starting to wonder how you're going to do Order of the Phoenix. Will Umbridge still be around?

Author's Response: Best fic on the site: wow! I think that\'s going to far, there\'s some fantastic stuff in here, but thanks for the compliment! Yes, Umbridge will appear in OOTP, and she\'ll be nastier than ever, particularly to poor Neville!

Yet Each Man Kills The Thing He Loves by Sonorus

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: 1945, and Albus Dumbledore comes to Nurmengard.

Title and quotations taken from The Ballad of Reading Gaol by Oscar Wilde.

I read this story a year or so ago and I really, really liked it. It's just a really good use of canon and a great story overall! Thanks!

Author's Response: Long overdue response. Thanks for your kind words. I still think this remains the best thing I've ever written, and I'm glad there are people out there who enjoyed it so much. Thank you!

Neville Longbottom and the Prisoner of Azkaban by Sonorus

I really enjoy the way you're taking this fanfiction. The parts with Harry and Sirius are really well done. Funny thing, I always imagined Charity being sixty or so, but JK doesn't say anything specific.

Anyway, great story!

Author's Response: I did check Charity carefully. Rowling gives no description, so the age and appearance of the character are entirely open. Also, according to one of Rowling\'s post-DH comments, Quirrell was the previous Muggle Studies teacher, so Charity can only have been in the job three years at this point. So a younger age for her is not inconsistant.

Wow, great chapter. I had no idea how you were going to do POA because Sirius is not in Azkaban, but I think the Lupin substitution is perfect!

Author's Response: Thanks! Lupin, as an Order member (and suspected traitor) was the obvoious choice. That obviously left a DADA teacher vacancy, which Sirius was more than happy to fill!

The Key to My Heart by James Jameson

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A story about a mother's love for her son and how during dark times, sometimes blissful ignorance is all you really need.
Reviewer: OHara Signed
Date: 08/29/09 Title: Chapter 1: The Key to My Heart

That was very cute! I noticed that Harry didn't seem quite so enthusiastic about Wormtail coming over. Sharp kid! :)

Author's Response: Aha I'm glad you noticed that! Thanks so much for the review! I really hope you enjoyed it!

My Favourite Things by KarasAunty

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Voldemort reflects on his rise, downfall and resurrection as the worst Dark Lord in history. Inspired by the Rodgers and Hammerstein hit of the same name from the film The Sound of Music.

Very funny!

Author's Response:

Hello OHara,

Very glad you liked it! I enjoy Potter-ising classic songs (or perhaps mutilating them would be a better choice of words!).

Thanks for R & R-ing,

Kara's Aunty :)

Celestina: The Lost Album by KarasAunty

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

A selection of (possible) songs from Celestina Warbeck's hit album 'You Stole My Cauldron, But You Can't Have My Heart'. Take with a healthy pinch of salt! *Contains references to insinuated sexual situations* UK English.

Very funny and very well done. Nice job!

Author's Response:

Hello OHara,

I'm delighted you enjoyed it! Thanks for R & R-ing,

 M :)

Another very funny song/poem. I wonder what Mrs. Weasley would think of a song like that! :)

Author's Response:

Hello OHara,

hahaha! I can't see her dancing around the Christmas tree with Arthur to that one (although she may have threatened him with similar retribution if he ever thought about straying).

It's enough to keep a hormonal hubby faithful!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it & thanks very much for R & R-ing,

M:)

Your Servant by Virgil

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: The name Severus means "servant." But whose servant was he? A poem about love that might have been.
Reviewer: OHara Signed
Date: 12/05/09 Title: Chapter 1: Your Servant

Very good poem. It rhymes really well (and believe me, I know how hard it is to do that). Good job!

Author's Response: Thank you very much!
