Brown by Northumbrian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Lavender Brown is not the easiest of people to get along with. Mark has managed to overcome the first hurdle, she has finally agreed that they are going out together. Now Mark faces another challenge.
Reviewer: minervassister Signed
Date: 06/07/12 Title: Chapter 1: York

How could any future parent-in-law not love Mark?
This is another great chapter.
The English Tourist board should sponsor you the way you describe Rye it sounds a lovely place to visit.
the dreich rain is spot on too!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
You'll find out how Mark survives his day in the third and final chapter.
Rye is a beautiful little town, and that's from someone who doesn't like the south coast much.
Dreich, I'm told, is probably a Scandinavian word, but a lot of northern slang is.

Love this!
Mark is so nice and Laveder is such a complex character, thay are great together.
Hope to hear more soon.
Well done on revealing another facet of the story.

Author's Response: Thanks.
I wanted to write a first-person Mark story (Lavender's already had one in Bare). It was supposed to be a one shot, like Bare. It grew to over 11,000 words so it will be three chapters of Mark doing what he's best at, worrying.

Reviewer: minervassister Signed
Date: 07/31/12 Title: Chapter 1: Yggdrasil

My late father used to say, "For every Jock there's a Jeanie".
So good to see the saying come true with Luna and Rolf.
They were made for each other, lovely story.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
A nice (and very Scottish) saying I’ve never heard before.
I tried to make them a good fit. Luna certainly recognised a kindred spirit.

Killers by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
Tom and Camelia are two people in search of something unobtainable, and each is prepared to kill to achieve their goal. For both, murder is simply the means to an end. For both, their victims are unimportant; they are merely collateral damage in the quest to live forever. What happens when two very different killers meet?

This is Northumbrian of Ravenclaw House writing for Round Three of the 2012 Character Triathlon.

Reviewer: minervassister Signed
Date: 08/30/12 Title: Chapter 1: Killers

Very convincing story, we know that Tom went down some very strange roads trying to cheat death.
Like the idea of Camelia becoming less evil because of her contact with good and bad.

Author's Response: Thanks
The idea that Tom would consider becoming a vampire was one I really wanted to explore.
Camelia somehow managed to take control of the story. Can she mend her ways?

Great story, love the way your stories all connect with one another.
When does Annie find out the truth about the Potters?

This is a great story. So good to see Annie getting over Simon and remembering her strange friends from the past.
Looking forward to seeing how she figures it all out or does James tell her?

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
The next chapter will be entirely James/Annie, but after that you can expect appearances from some of the other gang members.

Loved this chapter, was singing along with them!
Hope Annie finds out about magic soon.
Thanks for finding the time to update.

Author's Response: Thanks. I wondered if you’d know the song. As a Washingtonian, the sites (Lambton, Penshaw, and the River Wear) were all on my doorstep when I was growing up. I didn’t move North of the Tyne until I was in my early twenties.
As for updates, it’s beginning to look like I’ll have a lot of time on my hands in the near future.

Xmas Daze by Northumbrian

Disharmony by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
A good restaurant, a fine meal and an excellent wine, all in the company of friends, what could possibly go wrong? Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione are about to find out.

This is Northumbrian of Ravenclaw writing for the 2013 Great Hall Valentine's Day Cotillion.

Reviewer: minervassister Signed
Date: 02/02/13 Title: Chapter 1: Disharmony

Well done! Harry and Ron were bound to try it out one day, it's a bit like identical twins, difficult to resist trying to confuse your partners.
Only Luna can see through it naturally though.

Author's Response: Thank you. It took a surfeit of wine and an ill-considered bet, but yes. And Ginny is, in my opinion, very competitive. She would not want to lose. -N-

Concerns by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Hermione is pregnant, Ron is an idiot...
Reviewer: minervassister Signed
Date: 03/18/13 Title: Chapter 1: Concerns

Poor Ron he cares so much and always says the wrong thing.
I was worried about Hermione, so glad it turned out well.
Thanks for another addition to the story.

Author's Response:
Thanks.
He does, doesn’t he?
I intended to worry you, I’m glad I succeeded. ;-)
More of something soon.

Troth by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •

The path of true love etc. etc.!
Lavvy indeed, you couldn't resist it.
Always good to hear more about Lavender and Mark.

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Harry and Ginny visit Gringotts, and find a priceless treasure.
Reviewer: minervassister Signed
Date: 04/21/13 Title: Chapter 1: Vault

That was great!
Being even older than Harry's parents, I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of Steeleye Span one of my favourite bands.

Author's Response:
Thank you.
That’s not old! I was researching 70’s punk for a much darker story, and suddenly realised that Lily was a folk-rock fan, and this story arrived.
Any idea where I can get my hands on the reggae version of Spotted Cow?
-N-
ps Saw the Richard Thompson gig for the closure of Television Centre. Swarbrick looked really old and frail, but he can still play that fiddle.

Little Victory by Northumbrian

Delightful!
Fluff but very well written fluff about characters we know and love.
Thanks for brightening my morning.
ps can only find the usual version of Spotted cow.

Author's Response: Thanks.
My first attempt at a Victoire/Teddy story, glad you liked it.
Perhaps I simply dreamt hearing Span doing a reggae version.

Good to hear more of Angelina and the twins back story.
(The reggae "Spotted cow" does exist I just can't find a copy.)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, and the confirmation that my memory isn’t as bad as I feared. -N-
