I'm a mother of two who is by FAR the biggest HP fan in the house. I wrote THE MISSING CHAPTER to help me through my withdrawal over the series ending, and it was very therapeutic.
This was lovely. You just reviewed my piece, The Missing Chapter, and I was anxious to see your take on the battle's aftermath (no pun intended). It was so nice to get some extra time out of that final night--thank you. I especially enjoyed the scene with the Malfoys--short and low key, but I bet that's exactly what Harry would have done.
I'm feeling a camaraderie with you as we are both mothers who seem to be the biggest HP fans in our households. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your pieces.

Author's Response: I recognized your pen-name right off, Becky. Actually, when I got the notification that I had a new review, I was wondering if it might be from you, and I'm so glad it was! I'm pleased that you enjoyed the Malfoy/Harry interaction and found it to be realistic and low-key. I tried hard to avoid too-sappy encounters with Snape and then with the Malfoys, as I figured that would be completely off-canon. I, too, feel a sense of camaraderie with you. I'm reading your story for the first time and am enjoying it very much. I love the idea of following the Dursleys during that final year and expanding upon the changes of heart that Petunia and Dudley seemed to have at the beginning of Hallows. What fun!

What fun! I've always taken such delight in Mr. Weasley's enthusiasm for Muggle inventions and his near-misses on the names of things. This chapter was so fun to read.
