October, 1981 by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The beginning of the end: ten short scenes from October, 1981.

This is gorgeous, Gina. As much as I loathe Peter, I loved your characterization. It's even sadder to think that he really didn't want to betray his friends and that he did it only because he was too much of a coward to to fight with them.

And Sirius, it is heartbreaking to see him lose everyone he loved in one fell swoop. Of course he'd go crazy in that moment.

You are so good with these characters, and this is just amazing.

~Lea

Author's Response: Aw, Lea, thank you so much! I really enjoyed writing this fic, although its so desperately sad to think of what they all went through. I sometimes wonder if the Marauders' story isn't as good or better than Harry's sometimes. *sigh* Poor James and Lily - and Sirius! Guh! Sirius! Thanks so much for reading this and leaving one of your rare, golden reviews. I appreciate it and am so glad you enjoyed it! ~Gina :)

I get to tell you, once again, how much I adore this story. Stories like this are why I will fangirl you forever. It's beautiful and hopeful while portraying some incredibly sad times as well. You write these characters brilliantly.

You did such an amazing job of working bits of the song in without it feeling forced. Everything just flows whether it's lyrics in the narrative or movement between flashbacks and the present, it's all seamless. Very well done, Gina! This is one of my favorites.
~Lea

Author's Response: Thank you so much, dear - for all your kind words and more importantly, all your help with Raindrops!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it-sorry to make you beta it but you do know Remus very well! I'm so glad it finally came together, since I started it ages ago. I'm pretty pleased with it, so I'm happy you are too. Thanks again!! *hugs* ~Gina :)

Time To Go Home by Gmariam

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: One man struggles with the holidays after the death of a loved one.

Great job with this one, Gina. I was sure you were writing about George. Poor Arthur, no one ever seems to write about how lost he must have felt; it's always about Molly or George. This is really lovely but so very sad, especially the whole first paragraph. It's so difficult to put into words how the grief of losing a loved one makes you feel physically and you captured it perfectly. I really love this
~Lea

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Lea! It is rather sad and I did sort of want readers to think it was George at first, so I'm glad you did, hee hee. I really have no idea if Arthur would have reacted this way, but I did want to explore his character a bit with this, as well as keep his identity secret until the very end. I'm so glad you liked it, thank you for the review!! ~Gina :)

I love this so far and can't wait to see what they get up to. How do you keep writing a non hateful Peter? Remus is wonderful, as usual, and James and Sirius are so fun when they plot against each other. I can't wait to see what comes next! -Lea

Author's Response: Leaaaaaa! Thank youuuuu! Is it weird to read something you haven't previewed already? ;) I'm so glad you liked the beginning. I don't know what's up with me and Peter. I guess I just have to believe he couldn't have been quite the same dirtbag we see in PoA for the others to be friends with him. Hope you like how it turns out, it's been fun and a good way to get my mind off that other fic for a bit. :) Thanks again!! ~Gina :)

Until The Very End by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It was the last time he would see them both, though he did not know it at the time. Instead, Remus Lupin shares a tender moment with Lily Potter and says goodbye to James, promising to fight until the very end.

Gina, thank you so much! I don't even know where to start. I love this so much and I got teary again with my second reading. Remus is perfect, as usual. I want to hug him so badly.

I've always love to see his and Lily's friendship because I definitely think that they would have been close and I love how much she cares for him especially when he needs it the most. I never thought of him endangering a whole pub full of people just by being there and I love that Lily is able to make him realize how bad of a mistake it was but understanding him the whole time.

How awful to think that the people that you've trusted since you were eleven no longer trust you. Even though we know what Sirius is like and that he does lash out at whomever is around, it makes me want to shake him. And thank Merlin James comes around in the end. I think I might not have stopped crying if Remus didn't know that James trusted him before he died.

I know it's movie canon, and all of that, but from now on, whenever I watch PoA, I will be thinking of Lily pulling Remus out of that pub when he is telling Harry about how kind his mother was.
Thank you so much! ~Lea

Author's Response: You'reeeeee welcomeeeeee! Yay! I'm glad you like it. I was worried it was far too sad a birthday present. But I'm glad you liked Remus. I'd like to think he was close with Lily as well. I can even go for the odd Lily/Remus story before she starts dating James, hee hee. And yes, I have to believe James trusted him because to think otherwise is too heartbreaking. And that line from the movie was, I believe, the prompt for the original drabble. So connecting it to PoA is perfect! Yay! I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the review!! ~Gina :)

Sweet by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Susan Bones is always getting mixed up with her best friend, Hannah Abbott. She doesn't know why because not only do they look very different, but their tastes are different, too - even down to the flavours of their lip balm. For sunny, popular Hannah loves to try new things, and Susan stays with the same lip balm she's always known.

But perhaps she should try something new.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling.

This story has been written for Lea (mugglegirlmarauder) on the occasion of her birthday. Although she is a Gryffindor here, Pottermore begs to differ and has wisely put her in Hufflepuff.

Thank also to Natalie (hestiajones) for the pairing and the lip balm. I'm not sure the story quite does your inspiration justice :(.

Thank you so much for this! It's exactly what I needed and it brightened my day. It is sweet, and it's also perfect and exactly the type of happy ending which I'm a sucker for.
And thanks to you, I have a new fondness for Anthony Goldstein now.
I love it so much! ~Lea

Author's Response: I like happy endings, too - hee hee. Glad you liked it, Lea, and hope you had a lovely birthday. ~Carole~
